Been trying to find out for the last couple days if it does or not for the PC. I asked the question in the Have A Question? Ask It Here! thread over in general. Hasn't got a reply yet. Going to be watching the live stream in a bit to see if they mention anything. I couldn't tell from any PC box pics on what type of sound that was used (e.g. Dolby Digital, EAX, etc.). Not sure on the PS3 either.
I believe the Xbox 360 verison uses Dolby Digital, not sure if its 2.0, 5.1, etc though.

I am pretty sure than the demo is using 2.0. And if they won't fix this in the final version, I am not going to buy this God damn game. So clear.

TV speakers sucks. If you want to get effects (flying bullet's, explosions etc.) you need at least 5.1 HT speaker setup, because if the surround sound comes from TV speakers then it's still stereo sound. So you can don't worry about this.
lol, yeah this is true. Mafia has surround sound, if no. II didn't - I would seriously laugh hard. I'm a sound freak myself, running one of the most powerful PC sound systems available as well as a Sound Blaster X-Fi. I can't stand the integrated sound cards, even on high-end speakers the sound is horrible.
Well yeah,I'm in the process of saving $ for a new HD TV and a surround system.But for now,I have my older TV.
I just hope the engine sounds are louder than they are in the demo(PS3)
It would be a complete joke if there's no 5.1 surround. Even PSN/XBL games have surround sound.
I'm surprised that out of all that posts noone bothered to answer the poor guy. It does indeed have surround sound 5.1 at least , as i was showing my pops when he came by , how the house radio sounds so realistic when i get by it , left right , rear right , rear left , it sounded impecable and with a distance fadding that was very good.
Tested on Creative X-fi Titanium Fatal1ty with Logitech z5500 on windows 7.

My HT is under construction so I can't tell now, but i hope u are right. Thought it's strange that there is no dolby or dts logo on the demo.

Yeah your right. I had my surrounds to far from my listening position so I didn't hear the directional radio in the house. So I assumed the whole demo wasn't in 5.1 from the initial phone conversation at the beginning heh. The voices weren't coming from the center speaker. But in the mission the voices are coming from the center speaker, while the ambiance is going through FL, FR , LS, and RS.
