Irrational to close?
"We [industry analysts Wedbush Morgan] also think that the new management [at Take-Two] will take steps to cut costs as soon as practicable, resulting in studio closures and charge-offs for games in development."

Lol, the last analyst you want to listen to is Patcher. He just likes to stir things up by making up non-sense.
GTA IV will not get delayed. It's the game that 2K needs for some quick (and alot) of cash.
Studio closures are something that can't be done at any time, with ease, as Patcher seems to make it as.
BioShock will help alot as well.

Looks like you were right about GTA IV not being delayed.

So Pachter was right about GTA IV being delayed after all.

Maybe he's really not "the last analyst you want to listen to" as suggested above.

I think maybe they delayed GTAIV so it wouldn't conflict with another one of their releases (bioshock) to maximize profit.
maybe...

From videos I've seen, it looks like GTA 4 just wasn't polished enough to be released this year. Some E3 vids I saw had pretty serious framerate slowdowns and just general sluggishness. I doubt they're delaying for the reason of Bioshock's release. They just need more time to finish it.

Actually analysts are blaming the ps3 for the delay of GTA 4. Here's a quote from G4TV.com
"In a statement destined to provoke the ire and dark passions of fanboys everywhere, Wedbush Morgan's Michael Pachter blames the delay of Grand Theft Auto 4's release on the PlayStation 3.
Pachter believes the game was pushed back because of difficulty of developing for the PS3, in conjunction with contracts calling for a simultaneous release on the PS3 and the 360.
"We can only surmise what happened. We think it is likely that the Rockstar team had difficulty in building an exceptionally complicated game for the PS3, and failed to recognize how far away from completion the game truly was until recently," he said. "We think it is also likely that Take-Two had a contractual commitment to Sony that it would not favor competitor Microsoft by launching the Xbox 360 version of GTA IV prior to launching the PS3 version, and believe that any delay of the PS3 version necessitated a delay of the Xbox 360 version. In our view, this is the only plausible explanation of what happened, but management was reticent to provide any details during the conference call.""
