wont load

i download it on steam when i click play a little box comes up saying mafia 2 stays on for 5 sec then goes away nothing happens the game woont load HELP PLZ

this happened on my computer... my issue was that the game doesn't work on full screen. to fix it (at least on windows 7) hit start and search %appdata% click on roaming, on the top bar click appdata to move back, click local, 2k games, mafia 2, edit, vidconfig, open with notepad, then change the 1s to 0s. the game won't exactly be fullscreen, but it will work.
