Im not saying that its not realistic im just saying most people would not jump out of a car when its still moving. UNLESS they really really had to. I mean in gta it was pointless cause all you did was went flying across the pavement

I think what's most disturbing is the fact that, until Vito closes its car's door, he won't start the engine. Many times I have got caught by police due to the fact that he gets all gay about closing the car's doors and then starting the engine. In a situation like that you don't care about doors unless you're actually going to lock them. I want to escape fast and I don't care if the door's open. It would close eventually anyways.

Even if "most people" don't do it....Vito/Mafia men aren't "most people." When your in a high speed car chase you could care less about your fricken doors/etc.

Errrm ... what??? I was talking about the fact that he doesn't hurry up getting in the car and setting him up ... Instead, he gets in the car, close the door, start putting the engine to work ... All this get me caught many times. If he could get in the car and turn it on and speed to safety it would be better. Instead he does what I mentioned.

I think it would of been a cool add-on to be able to jump out of the car. Maybe not going 60mph and living, but being able to go 30 or below and being able to jump out while still being really red and regenerating health would of been cool and helpful.
I experienced a funny bug today, cops were chasing me & i jumped into a cop car and one of them jumped in the passenger seat so i was driving around with a police-man passenger! =D
My partial workaround has been to smash off the door with another car (he doesn't shut the door if you hold a direction as soon as he starts getting out) which cuts out the time taken to shut the door. It's ridiculous to have to use such an unrealistic method to make a faster getaway, but it's this or nothing.
It's almost impossible to have it that he is getting chased by the cops he would start the car faster. Only reason it is like this in GTA is not because they thought of this but because it is more arcadey hence having the car start faster. Also it isn't hard to break into a car and start it hotwire it and escape before the cops get you, I have done this tons of times you just have to think about what to do and the perfect time to do it.
What if you wanted to dumb the car in the river, which I tried to do without dying.

the game is designed this way.
1 makes sense,
2 there's a gameplay mechanic for this, if you're wanted you either change your clothes/appearance or change the car, that's how it works, it's meant to be like that, realistic or not.

Actually it's not very realistic, because the car has to come to a full and complete stop before Vito can open the door, he should at least be able to open the door when the vehical gets below 10mph, thats slow enough to maintain your footing as you exit the vehical.

I think the problem would be with the animation, obviously there is only one animation for exiting the vehical, if this was used while the vehical was moving it would look odd, calmly stepping out at 10mph and closing the door, nope, does not work
then we ask to add trown ragdoll animation or something more complicated
