How do you add force-feed back?
Hello,
I have a Logitech Driving Force GT and running Windows 7 64.
Cause i dislike the way the keyboard-steering behaves i downloaded the latest x360ce App version and set everything the way it was told on start topic.
Ingame:
Steering works, Gas/ Brake works. But as soon as i start driving out to the road, 5 meters on the backyard (Chapter 4 11. Feb), the game crashes. If i "uninstall" the emu the game starts working normals again.
Any Solution to this? Even a reason?
EDIT:
Found the Reason... NEVER NEVER activate FF in the Emu WHEN YOU HAVE A LOGITECH FULL FF WHEELcause FF and Vibration is not the same, and seams to crash the game. Maybe because it trys to vibrate the Wheel X-)

Did you activate the FF in the x360ec.exe?
Because this was my fault, even that youhave a rumble controller it could that there still is a problem with the ff/vib

I have a Sidewinder Racing Wheel and gas/brake works on left and right trigger. But steering doesn't work. I recorded the steering wheel on the "stick left" and "stick right" and also on the x-axis but doesn't work.
Where do I have to record the steering action?
Can anybody tell me where to which trigger or stick I have to record the gas/brake and steering so that they both work?
Rtrigger - gas
ltrigger - brake/Rev
FF is not possible because the code doesn't exist in the game for function.
Thanks, I have done that, but where do I have to record the steering? I've tried the sticks but the steering doesn't work in game. But the steering values do change in the "options" tab of the emulator so the software recognises it.
I don't have force feedback.
I'm sorry to repeat myself, but where do I have to record the steering onto? It should be the left stick of the emulator, but that doesn't work. Anybody?
Left steering = L analog stick (on xbox controller)i believe if your are doing it manually.
This is the line that refers to it just FYI: (in the INI file)
Left Analog X=1 #axis index; use - to invert; precede with 's' for a slider eg; s-1; 7 to disable
Hit record then move your device (wheel) left and it should capture it.
Maybe it is just my head getting confused, but when I played the original story of the main game I had to launch the emulator every time that I wanted to use the wheel while playing, but when I have been playing Jimmy's Vendetta I forgot to do so but it still worked in the game, so while playing Jimmy's Vendetta I have not launced it prior to playing the game.
Yeah that was my mistake. You don't need to launch it everytime. Once you've done the basic steps it will work as long as the files exist in the PC directory.
Look at this clown reposting all of our hard work over at his site as his own. When I called him on it he deleted my post.

Oh well, lol that procedure is old and not 100% anyway. Some people have no shame it seems.
Elizabeth send this reply on my e-mail.
"Hey there,
I do know about this feedback and the dev team has looked in to wheel support but they are not going to add it. I’m sorry to not be able to give you the answer you are looking for, but they did look in to the issue based on user requests!
Elizabeth"
So how the h**l does that help us? They looked into it, but aren't going to fix it. What kind of behaviour is this? Is it the 'czech way' of customer service?
Well thats horrible, I mean how much work can it be, personally I do not know so there could be reasons for it in the sense that it is complicated, but as I have said before it is one way to improve the game quite a lot technically so I am very disappointed.
When they put so much effort into the cars, the physics and there is so much driving in the game, and when Martin goes on about how much he likes the driving in the game in his reaply thread then something is not right.
I start to think that Mafia II has become some kind of "burden" for the developers, though while being happy that they have released it in the end, since it didn`t turn out the way they wanted it too, they want to move on to something different as soon as possible.
Hello guys, I have several problems and hope somebody can help me solve them. First of all, I run Genius 8-Button USB Wheel on Windows 7. It needs calibration though I can't seem to find it in W7 - I used to play Mafia one on XP with it and had no problems. So my first problem is I need to make some offset, since that xBox emulator thingie says I have like -10000 in Axis 1 when my wheel is in center. My second question is the possibility of using wheel only on cars and play on keyboard + mouse when on foot. I started the game after that tutorial in the first post and couldn't control my character with keyboard and mouse. Would be very thankful for any help on these.
As long as the drivers are in W7 it should work in Mafia 2. Yes the whill will work with cars and mouse and keys for shooting. Type 'controller' in the w7 start bar to get to the wheel cfg. Make sure its set to separate if you have pedals. When you use the x360 emu make sure it is set to gamepad and not wheel cause it wont work at all like that.
This game is a missed opportunity.![]()

Well it seems that we are not going to get official support for wheels in this game, but I wonder WHY NOT, and I do not mean that in a screaming whining fashion, but quite simply even if they say, which they have according to Liz that there will be none, then tell us the REASON, and do not leave us with a few...."oh we got other things to do" kind of answers, but we want to know how difficult it is and how much time it would have taken to implement it even if we do not get it.
And Martin in answering the question about wheel support in his Q&A thread said something about "lesson learned", I mean ok I understand what he means due to the interest in getting wheel support in the game, but more important they would have learnt that lesson ALREADY by seeing how many that liked the wheel support for the first game.
Its really sad that I will probably always hold the lack of wheel support against this game as a huge drawback, maybe even the biggest as I like the game overall and I am not so critical towards it as many others on this forum.

Thanks a lot for the help, at least I calibrated my wheel with that 'controller' suggestion. But Mafia 2 still won't react on the wheel. You said "As long as the drivers are in W7 it should work in Mafia 2" did you mean I don't have to use x360 emul? If so, what should I do? When I run that emul - I can't switch gears. I get in car and press accelerate pedal on my wheel, cycles increase but the car won't move. And when I'm on foot I always aim and shoot. I guess I need to do that pedals separation thing to get rid of it?

Yay it works! Thanks a lot, you made my day. No, the whole week![]()
Hello Chalkman!I have read so many things ,it was more problem with it,but at least i've succeed to install my Momo wheel in XP and the game detected it succesfully. It was a big problem with deadzone, but i've resolved it with a software.ONE more problem remains, that's why i'm asking for your help, the game is stop working everytime.IF i push the throttle in the street,he is getting the gun and shooting with it 1 times ,and then the game stops working, and quits. It's possible that the pads are colliding with Wheel.I hope you can resolve my problem.
Your Sincerely : Gábor (hungary)
I wait until you can make this problem. If you have finished, then read pls. Thank You!
i have not played this game for 5 weeks now and to find out they are not going to fix the steering. well its over for me ever playing this game again. or buying any more packs i rushed out and got this game when it first came out. going by how good mafia 1 was and steering support i made a bad mistake buying the game![]()
More than 57,000 views on this subject so far.Do the devs still think there is not enough interest in this matter to warrant a fix?.![]()
I have literally hundreds of hits on my INI file download.![]()
Will you give us wheel support if views reach 60,000?.surely that shows enough people are interested in it?.Come on do the right thing. This game would be sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better for it.christmas is coming you know lol.
My favorite part of Mafia I, besides the story line, was driving around the town in Free Mode using my joy stick. I've been using a joy stick for years with driving games like Need for Speed, Test Drive Unlimited, Mafia 1 and love it. The stick axis controls acceleration and braking and steering. I was amazed in Mafia II to find that there is no Free Mode, but worse yet I can't use my simple USB Thrustmaster T1600 stick, trying to use keyboard keys to control driving is almost impossible.
I did a search and didn't see any topics on using a joystick in Mafia II and the above hack looks way to complicated and doesn't look like it has any drop in ini files for joystick use. Why can't 2k come out with a patch to support wheels and joysticks?
OK, I discovered a newer X-Box360 program and dll that automatically recognizes the T16000M joystick and shows it in the test program automatically. It uses a newer xinput1_3.dll file and the test program is x360cd.exe v2.0.2.94 the ini file is x360ce.ini
I now have steering on x axis of the stick and acceleration/breaking on the y axis.. what a difference driving in Mafia II and I can use my left hand on the mouse to swing my view around to any angle while driveing.. this is great!!!
One huge problem though: I have lost control of the out of car control. The view stays just to the right side of the character's head and neither the run/walk (caps key) or the sprint (shift key) work any more, he is stuck in walk mode only and can not look around easily and the view is way to close up to the character to see what one is doing. The stick is some how interferring with the keyboard controls. I've reset the keyboard in game with no effect. The stick won't control the character at all, but will move him sporatically in the the x axis movement. I had this same problem with the earlier x-box360 control set, but with that set I could only get the x axis of the stick to conrol the steering, as I mentioned.
I know the main concern here is about getting wheels to work, but surly some of you can help to get a stick to work? There are plenty of people who use a stick in raceing games and they are very effective when set up right. I used to have a MOMO wheel and I found that I could drive just as well with a stick with out all the hassles of setting up the wheel and peddals, etc. each time I wanted to play, though the wheel was a lot of fun.
I have acron wheel. do it work for mafia 2? it work before playing the game.i can up or down or... but when i resume the gmae and in the game it doesn't work.
please help me.
There is no wheel support Mohammad, so it won't work unless you use the emulator. Read thru this thread starting page one and see if it will work with your wheel.
