Oh god OP, how much did that setup cost you?

TanL, I have a bit personal question, if you don't mind.
How much money have you spend to purchase your computer? $3,000? More?

lol, I remember doing stuff like that in Freeride mode in Mafia 1. I'd go and steal 15 or so cars, pile 'em all together, then throw a grenade into the center of them and watch them all explode.

Btw, had a 5970 for half a year, now is the time to Fermi :P
Mafia II runs FASTER on a GTX470 when all options are turned to the max, and I dont mean like one fps or smth, it runs 20fps faster lol.
Here is my Mafia II Benchmark video.

Loved seeing the jumps but ...

Don't take this as a rant but, c'mon ... And people criticize GTA's physics. Dude, I thought the physics were realistic until I saw this video. In GTA you don't have those stupid invisible barriers ... There was a jump that, if it didn't had that stupid invisible walls, would be a ''Ohhhhhh !!!'' moment. Instead, the cars reaction to crashes is very obvious and almost predetermined, with no damage besides some scratches and a engine problem. This kinds of accidents should make the car undrivable, like what happens in GTA --- The car either gets immovable due to the tires being flattened by the cars deformations, you either end up exploding the car, either get it full of dents and scratches, either make the engine break or either ending up flyin' through the windows.

I LOVE ( sarcasm/ ) how Vito dies always with its head tilted backwards, into the seat even if the car lands in a vertical position that would make you fall front and leap out of the car.

This game has majorly come to dissapoint me in the last few days :S !!!

Thank God there is good colision systems and physics reproducers such as GTA. I still have major fun driving around and crashing, seeing Niko fly all over the place.

I will buy this game, is to addictive ... Nevertheless, I can't deny its huge faults.

The invisilbe walls are mainly for the demo. And there is an optional damage model that does things GTA style; or at least there are files for one. I can't help with trhe way Vito slouches; it's just an animation and it's accurate 90% of the time.

    What about them 10% mate ;P ?

No game simulated the way the cars behaved like GTA did. I can guarantee you that the cars in GTA behaved EXACTLY like their counterparts do in real life. I don't know how MII is in this chapter but some cars feel off :S ... Nevertheless, driving is the best the game has to offer in my opinion when in simulation mode.

So the real life counterparts had useless brakes and worthless steering too?

Don't all cars at high speeds do ?

I mean, no offense, just an information:
Like in MII and in GTA ( and real life, but I prefer by far the GTA car simulation ), when you brake suddenly, pushing L2 to its maximum, the brakes ( again, like in real life ) block and the car slides like it would be on ice. Instead, if you break pushing gradually the L2 button, like you would with the brakes in real life, the car will respond better and I can guarantee you that it will break in a matter of seconds. If you lock the brakes by pushing L2 to its max its normal that they seem useless.

About the steering, that's a matter of opinion :S !!! I can think a Evo steers well and you may not. This is subjective. The braking is a known fact and no opinions can be forged here :S !!! Its just a fact and that's it.

Well I played GTA IV on PC so with a keyboard I can either go full brake or no break. I wasn't aware of that function ^_^

How the hell do you get such smooth performance!?

My system is very similar power wise to yours (i7 930 @ 3.8GHz/6GB ram/4870X2) yet I can't even play smoothly at max settings... and this is with physx on medium Not to mention at only 1680 res....

Unless the OC from 3.8 - 4GHz really makes that much of a difference?

Yup, Car Simulator indeed. If you deny it being far superior than MII physics and handling then you're a hard-on MII Fanboy. I don't talk to Fanboys since they're stupid as hell in accepting a known fact.

And the question is not how old AM I ... The question is, how old ARE YOU ?

Little spoiled brat ... go on ...

Atleast the user The Janitor recognized ... You will deny everything for your new game to seem perfect, with no flaws.

Car physics are way better in Mafia 2. See how the cars react at differents moves, the tires, everything... it's more sim than in GTA 4.

I'm no Fanboy of the GTA franchise, I only have two that I can call mine: San Andreas and GTAIV.

But I think that the GTA physics are a lot more accurate than those presented in MII.

    Cheers mate !!!

Oh great videos, especially the one during night, it looks so atmospheric. It has been a long time since I have anticipated a game as much as this one.
