2k, can we please give the Protector Trials Big Daddy a name? Please?

I mean, c'mon. The poor guy(?) has to go through so much in that DLC, he should at least be given recognition in the Bioshock universe. The guy(?) gives us some of the most fun and challenging moments in Bioshock 2, and he's just called "an alpha series?" He even helped us get a sneak peak at the Minerva's Den DLC, and you won't give him a name?

I propose we call him "Subject Nu" (Nu fitting in with the whole "Greek numbering thing" and because "Nu" sounds like "new," considering he's a new Big Daddy that we get to play as).

I hope the Minerva's Den Big Daddy will have a name...

Does he NEED a name? Besides, Steve had already said (at least I think he has) that you play as more than one Big Daddy in the PTs.

Yeah I don't think the Protector Trials are considered canon.

his name is "The Alpha Big Daddy" ooohhhh

hes really doesn't need a name, first the name then a story, I don't think 2k has the time for that with the new bioshock dlc coming out

We don't really need a story. We pretty much got the background for all Big Daddies through Subject Delta and Sinclair. They probably all had stories just like those two. No one willingly becomes a giant mutant monster.

I'm just saying that we should name this poor soul. In the future, when we're playing games like Bioshock 3 and Bioshock: Infinite and we look back at this game, someone might say "I loved playing as that Alpha Series daddy." Someone might respond to that with "You mean Subject Delta?" and the other person would reply "No, the one you play as in the DLC." The second person would then respond: "Oh, the one from the Minerva's Den DLC?" and the first person would say: "No, the one from the Protector Trials!"

I just want this guy to have a name, considering how much I enjoyed the Protector Trials. I liked the Trials more than the Multiplayer and all it's DLC combined (Sorry, Digital Extremes, but it was too buggy and laggy, and Bioshock really doesn't need multiplayer). If nothing else, then I shall call him "Subject Nu" alone!

I wish 2K would make us a normal guy/girl instead of a Big Daddy in Minerva's Den or any other unannounced Single Player DLC. Would Make for a greater challenge.

A don't think a normal guy would survive Rapture as it is now... only if you were a freaking mutated splicer, but then, how would it connect? Being a freak in a world of freaks gives no background story at all...

...also, there will be no other SP DLCs. Sorry to say that... Steve Gaynor confirmed that himself :/ he's the lead designer and writer of Minerva's Den.

idk if the protector trials are canon or not (i'd like to consider them canon) but I think that the big daddy shouldn't have a name. Unless you want to give him one cause I think of this as a way for the player to be the big daddy and not a certain big daddy like Subject Delta and Subject Sigma that has a set story.

For instance I could call the Alpha series in the protector trials "Subject Kappa" or any other name. I liked the Subject Norris one that was awesome and yes I am aware this thread is probably dead but I came across it and thought I should give my two cents.

The way Bioshock is designed it alows the player to be the protaginist, the reason that the others have names (jack, delta, sigma) is so they can have back stories, without a back story there's no point having a name, it just alienates people.
