Steam Update

I tried downloading the demo but when I launch steam after installing it, it starts updating, stays at 0% for a while, and closes itself automatically.

How can I fix it? Please don't tell me to contact steam.

PS. I'm on Windows 7.

That's a steam related issue I would suggest visiting their forums for a solution (not trying to be disrepectful only suggesting that you would be much more likely to find a solution there).

However, have you tried unistalling steam and then reinstalling?

I've tried uninstalling steam, restarting steam, and disabling internet securities but nothing seems to be working.

EDIT: After trying like 100s of times, it finally worked.
