    Physx System Software Problem

    Specs:

    OS: Windows 7 64bit

    CPU: Intel Q6700

GPU: Asus Mars Limited Edition (Nvidia) 295

Hey, i've done extensive testing as i could to make the demo work and nothing work, here's what i've done.

First thing i tried was to run it as an administrator, same thing, Mafia 2 logo shows up and closes, then i tried running a compability problem (yes i know it supports Windows 7 but i was doing extensive testing) So now i run it in Windows XP Service Pack 2, but before i tried to run the game as an Administrator again i went to Nvidia and downloaded the latest driver.
Now with the latest Driver installed i tried to run it as an Administrator again, this time it said "Physx SDK not Initialized. Physx System Software will be Installed"
Which never happened, so again i went to Nvidia and downloaded the needed physx program and for safety reasons i restarted the PC. And again the same thing even with the physx System Software installed the same error message came again.

SO i have tried every possible way to make it work and nothing does. The fact this is the very first Demo that has EVER crashed even BEFORE it launching itself has severly decreased my expectations of the game, and to TOP IT OF! I downloaded the Gothic 3 demo and IT launched itself quite fine! And that game is NOTORIOUS for its bugs, so i really do hope the real game isn't like this because i LOVED the first game!

Hope you guys fixes this asap

I also have the same problem, but I got an answer from tazzam1, which may help. I don't know, I will check it when I get home, but maybe it will solve the issue. At least, it is my last hope.

    Check it here:

I will try it as soon as I get home, and I'll post the result.
It seems quite easy, hope it'll work. I already ran out of ideas yesterday after 3hrs of trying. Can't wait to play the demo.

I tried it, and it worked. It's a piece of cake.
Follow tazzam's instructions, use Driver Sweeper to remove the remains of the drivers, reinstall GPU driver, then remove Physx from the Control Panel's Remove Program, reinstall the latest Physx (NVIDIA just released one today!), and there it goes. It took 10 minutes, and now it's working like a miracle.
Too bad for the nerves I destroyed yesterday. :S

Hey mafiosos. I have the same problem as grimdrag had, and I was going through tazzam's instructions, but somehow I can't remove physx installs...

The window says: The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not avaliable. Insert the 'NVIDIA PhysX' disk and click OK....

I dont know what to do, beacuse Im pretty much noob at this stuff. Is it because I own ATI graphic card?

The first time I installed Mafia II demo, it ran very nice, untill that physx fix came out. Since then I can't start the game. Can I turn off physx outside the game mybe?
