    PS3 Frame Rates

This tread is for people who tried the demo on the PS3 and had a horrible time, mostly being the Frame Rates in with driving but also the other stuff in he game. I sincerely feel for you, as I experienced the same thing! I hope the developers (Jack & Dan) can fix this for us, and that even if they cant fix the demo. Clear it up so that it is not a problem in the final game Who else had problems with horribly low frame rates on PS3?

Screentearing and framerate problems here aswell for PS3. Do not buy it for PS3, dont support 2k when they did a crappy job with the PS3 version.

It tuns amazing at 60FPs for PC on high.

Frame Rates and screen tearing on the ps3 version was horrible.

I've said this in many threads now and I am NOT exaggerating, the frame rate is the worst I've seen in ANY game in my entire life (including old PS1 games and PS2 games).

    It's disgustingly bad.

When walking or running it's fine. But when in a car it's diabolical.

I wish I could, but Ive been waiting for this game and since my computer will not run this game, I'm hoping that they fix this problem for the PS3 so I can enjoy this game as anticipated.

Dude you're rigght actually,The final version is almost guaranteed to be SO much better than the demo, I mean it has to right? 2K wouldn't dare do this to us after 7 years of loyalty. I mean they have to fix this. Driving is what Ive been looking forward to the most. They've gotta fix it! They cant release broken game.

The retail game is out in 14 days. If the final build runs the same as this demo than that's how the retail game will run. They really haven't got time to improve it...

I think you should take this advice. While it is true the final version should perform better, there is no indication of how better. It could be 1%, 50% or 100%. If there is a single reason for the poor rendering times then it COULD be all fixed for final, but it is unlikely to be the case (reason: Precident of poor performing demos leading to poor performing retail versions).

Ok I have only tried the PS3 demo so far, so I can't really compare to any other platform, but I still can see some issues and it makes we wonder which platform I should preorder this on.

As far as in the house, walking, driving the framerate stays the same. I've read that people have experienced a drop when driving. This is not the case for me, or maybe I'm just not noticing it but I think not because it gets really bad once the mission starts:

On the second floor in the destillery the game lags up incredibly, it's like someone else said here: it's slow motion almost. However once I have killed the 4-5 guys on the second floor then it just pops back to the normal and runs as smooth as before. What's weird is that on the first floor there are actually More enemies, so it would appear that the amount of enemies Wouldn't be the problem. Yet still the framerate goes back to normal After you have killed all of them on the second floor so on the other hand it seems like it has something to do with it strangely enough.

I feel some comfort that Elizabeth has taken it up with the team, but you gotta wonder: Wasn't this present in the Beta testing? Did PSN just simply get a bad copy? Because from what I get, this problem is non exisiting on Xbox 360? There should have been a public beta months ago, then all of this could have been avoided in time. We are less than 14 days away from US release, so it's probably not going to get fixed Before release (i.e. that the problem would be solved on the disc itself), but more likely through some sort of patch, but I am having a hard time seeing how that would be possible as it is a performance issue rather than a bug or glitch.

But could someone also answer this straight: Is it the same (as I describe it above) on Xbox 360? Because then I might actually pick it up for that platform instead (got a PS3 preorder atm).

I'm not experiencing any frame rate issues outside the house. Only slight frame dips have been on the second floor of the distillery and if I swing the car around with the handbrake really quickly.

I keep wondering what it is that I'm doing differently.

When I first fired up the 360 Demo, the first thing I thought to myself was, "Wow, this frame-rate is horrible, No way am I buying this game."

Then I download the PS3 version, and right off the bat I'm thinking to myself, "Damn, this is so much smoother than the 360 demo. Definitely getting it for PS3."

And I don't know what it is, since the majority of people seem to think that the PS3 has a worse framerate, and I'm experiencing the exact opposite. =/

At any rate, I'm probably just going to rent the game. Not sure which platform, though.

Ok so now I have tried both the Xbox 360 demo and the PS3 demo and there is a HUGE difference here. The Xbox 360 version is better and there is no doubt at all from my part. Here is why:

    - More details like grass, wounds and blood.
    - While there exists screen tearing and FPS drop it is not as obvious as on the PS3.
    - Apex is turned on and clothes move, while on PS3 they don't.
    - The controls feel more natural with RT and LT being Fire and Aim and RB and LB being Reload and Sprint.

Bottom line is that I will be changing my PS3 pre order to Xbox 360, mostly because of the controls but also because that the FPS is much better.

2K wont confirm anything which worry me.
