50 this october, only really got into gaming a few years ago, now I'm having a blast.
I will be 61 in October 2010.

what day? ... mine is Oct 20th. (i been gaming since roughly the late 1980's which would have put me a little kid as i believe i started on a Atari 2600 (which was originally released in 1977 BUT the one i had was the 'Atari 2600 Jr' (as i just checked online which came out in 1984)) and moved onto a NES etc)

ill be 31 this Oct. (so i voted for the 30-35 option) (i played Mafia when it came out in 2002 and i would have been around 22-23 at that time)
but as far as the Poll.... it appears there's only 4 others (so far) that are older than me in here but then again i guess i am starting to get old when it comes to gaming since it appears most gamers are 20 something or younger (or at least where the bulk of the gaming audiences are at). but i suspect that will change as people that are around my age (or younger) get older and older as down the road gaming might start to appeal to the older crowd to as most people around 40-50+ years old nowadays are more old school and typically view video games as something for kids but as time passes i suspect this will change.
also on Poll... so far it appears 75+ percent are 25 or younger but i kind of figured that was going to be the case anyways.

I have seen similar polls to this on other games forums, and usually the older adult percentage is higher than it is here. That may well be because this poll is only a couple of hours old; many forum users might not have seen it yet, or might not visit regularly enough to see it before it leaves the 1st page . Also, the game isn't out yet, and many players might not bother with a forum before the game is out (if at all). I expect there are a lot more players aged 30 and above that we aren't seeing here, especially for a game like Mafia which I think appeals to a more mature gamer than most games.

I'm 15, Mafia 1 was the first game I got by myself (with my dad at the register of course). Besides that, I was just playing Duke Nukem 3D with an old joystick my dad kept around. I think I was 7 when I first played Mafia and I have been waiting, like most of you here, eight years since the first game ended for a Mafia 2. And now its only 22 days away!
That's incredible that you enjoyed Mafia 1 at age 7. I don't think I would've had the attention span for that.
I'm turning 16 about a month after the release of Mafia 2, so that's what I put down in the poll.
Obviously I didn't get some of the subtle things, but I was still blown away that a game could be that good. Mafia was an experience that many only see in movies, and it is the reason why I accept video games as a good medium for storytelling. I wasn't used to the old arcade video games that didn't really have stories, so I didn't have any prejudice against video games being used for storytelling. I installed it on my new computer on two days ago, and replayed it. It was even better the second time around, now that I've matured.That's incredible that you enjoyed Mafia 1 at age 7.
