Minimum System Requirements?

My current rig runs Civ 4 on just about max settings with no issues, but my wife's runs half-decent without a lot of the bells and whistles turned on. Am I going to need to upgrade hers before we can play?

Well what are the specs? A Presler XE could run Civ IV really well but will be weak on Civ IV than a Core 2 Duo @2.66GHz

I just saw a sale at MicroCenter for 1TB Western Digital drives. The 32MB cache ones. You could pick up a couple more just to be sure.

I remember running Civ4 with 2GB memory, Athlon64 3700+, and a GeForce 660GT. It worked, but I couldn't max out settings and even then it struggled a bit at times. The real problems I see here are the lack of memory and weak graphics card.

Now, none of us can say for sure just what the minimum requirements would be, mostly because Firaxis hasn't released them and won't say what they are until then. However, at that, I'd say all you can hope for is the bottom end of the spectrum. For $200, you can easily double your memory and jump up to a GeForce 8600 which should alleviate most concerns. However, I wouldn't do that until we know what the actual requirements are. Give it two to four weeks and we should know.

Again, no guarantees, just a guess from a guy who builds computers.
