If a game receives universal acclaim from both critics and users, do you make fundamental changes and remove all kinds of things from the sequel? No, of course not.
So why then DID they remove/change all kinds of things? Because the demographic is different this time around.
You don't need to be a marketing expert to realize that the three main platforms (Wii, PS360, PC) cater to different demographics. Sure, PC and PS360 aren't THAT different, but different enough to cause for example a change in the health system.
