I know there's an official weapons thread for discussing which weapons will be available etc.

But I was wondering which type of gun will you use most and why? Personally I LOVE handguns. Especially in Mafia/crime type games. Not sure why I think the characters just always suit them lol and they're just a lot of fun. Next up, I used to be a fan of assault rifles and machine guns but honestly, recently, I've become more a fan of Shotguns. Again, there's something enticing about them especially when playing a criminal.

Although I am definitley going to have to unleash the tommy gun on the side of a car at some point


So, for me;

1. Handguns (sexy little bringers of death).
2. Shotguns (has criminal/gangster written all over it).
3. Fully Automatics/assault rifles/machine guns (spray and pray).

It would have been better to alow voters multiple selections, in normal gun play it's either a pistol or assault rifle, but my favorite in most games tends to be the sniper rifle, nothing more satisfying than than hitting an unsuspecting target 400 meters away, I'm thinking about picking up Sniper Ghost Warrior.

Handguns all the way, i prefer the .357 Magnum.

For bigger and special jobs i prefer the Thompson M1928.

Assault rifles, powereful yet precise when fired properly, single round or in bursts. And when things get rough spamming bullets can save your butt. =P

Handguns can be pretty cool as well, nothing says more "I'm a precise and deadly assassin" than ending a group of bad guys with a single pistol.

And I've also heard the AI is cheating in SGW... if you take one shot and you're hidden they instantly start to shoot at you

Well, since he does not appear to be using a silencer on that rifle, then the moment he fires he gives away his position, I believe the tactic is to quickly take them all out, what would peeve me is if I hit a target 400 meters away and they manage to hit with return fire from normal assault rifles.

Small machine guns and hand guns are my favorite, I like anything that sounds badass. From watching the videos, the Beretta Model 38 machinegun and the 357 magnum had the most satisfying sound.

i did not vote...

i prefer a combination...

-Pistols... .357 Magnum etc/Colt1911 (Colt1911 i would say was my overall favorite in the first game for pistols) (basically the non-peashooter types )
-Shotguns... Pump Action (mostly)
-Machine Guns etc... Tommy Gun (this is the default 'go to' gun when $h1t hits the fan )

i don't think i would care to much for those super heavy machine guns (although i am guessing they could be decent to mix things up from time to time)

so in other words i will probably mostly use the guns we already had the in the first Mafia game , although i am sure there's going to be some others that turn out to be solid.

p.s. i just hope we have some chances to use stealth in the game, at least from time to time.

Handguns for me too, they are easier to carry and if used well never let you down. They can also be carried without being noticed; and in my opinion, they resemble better the concept of Mafia.

For me, it`s usually handguns (1911). But i just love the MG42 (it was really a breakthrough as a machine gun concept in its time)! So, it`s machine guns for me.

CoD4 has renewed my trust in assault rifles and SMG`s. They`re more accurate and with more firepower. So who would say no?

I prefer shotguns or Magnums, big guns mainly, even though it can sometimetimes be inpractical, but when the occasion is right, and you hit the bastard just right, it's a very rewarding feeling.

I love handguns for one on one. The .38 sp is my favourite. I just love the sound, and the feeling of it being a bit smaller then the colt.

I've also shot with a .38 sp in real life, so i guess it brings back the good memories. recoil looks very similiar to the one i felt.


edit: for manslaughter i just love spraying with the tommy gun.

nope its called Aim assist but it wont lock like in GTA more like MW2 kind of feel but I turned it off.

Handguns, always have and always will. Been a member of several handgun clubs, I collect them at home and I don't know - just think they're more graceful and elegant than rifles. I was in the Norwegian army 5 years back or so, and I had to lug around a G3 (INSANELY powerful rifle - can you say full auto on 7,62 caliber?). But it was heavy and impractical. Hell, they even attached sniper scopes to it and used it for that. Shoot someone in the foot with it and it would basically explode, the staff sergeants told us.

Anyway, I have a good friend who collects rifles and shotguns - I go with him to dispatch some furious anger with his hunting rifle (last time I actually shot his .308 rifle standing while it was packing the most extreme ammo available - recoil was fantastic). He dared me to do it - how could I resist?

Handguns all the way, baby. Hope there are more of 'em in the game than the 2 in the demo.

Edit: I love the recoil of the Thompson in the game, and most of the sounds are pretty decent.
