    Add 'Survivor' Difficulty

One: The damage and health stats could just be carried over from Hard. It isn't so much the increase the difficulty of the individual people as...

Two: Have everyone's health reset after a death. It forces you to take a new look at each room rather than just go in wrench slinging. Say that they found some bandages and healed up. Say that they replaired their turrets (Hey, you see them set up turrets!). It's easy to explain in game and would increase the overall difficulty.

Three: Increase the cost of the vending machines and U-Vents. Make it so your pennies and ammo count. You can't go gunslinging through the room on this mode because it could waste useful ammo.

I would love a difficulty setting like this...

    Someone could easily mod it.

I'm waiting for the modders to pop-up and give us some updates of what stuff they can add to the game :P

i know what you mean. i was kind of dissapointed at how easy it was to stock up on ammo. i thought it would be more like every bullet matters

I have not taken a serious look, but everything so far seems to be openable with a simple text editor.

I've found everything from weapon specs to loot table "chances" and I've only invested maybe 5 minutes.

I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard at all to craft a game to your needs.

Unless you are a 360 player...

Still can't mod the 360 version of the game (as far as I know). Needs to be Irrational and 2K who gives us a patch for it.

Which would be an excellent idea.

Ubisoft did it for Might and Magic and that worked great. People complained it was too easy so they made a "Hardcore Mode" which was true to it's name. 1 hit kills from basically everything. (I completed it on hardcore too :P)

Am I the only one who finds the 'hard' mode actually very difficult?

It is only difficult if you force yourself to not use certain tonics weapons and plasmids. Otherwise way too easy but that doesn't mean the game wasn't bad.

Meh. I'm on the third level and I haven't encountered any plasmids/tonics/weapons that were too powerful...

to the person who posted the every bullet matters comment that came from way back when it was going to be more of a first person RPG rather than a action based shooter and just for the sake of asking has anyone defeated a big daddie with only the wrench as a weapon and if so how many times did you use a vita chamber

kinda reminds me of all those STALKER mods.

stalker was far, FAR too easy w/o them, but with them its much more challenging and interesting.

just doing something simple like increasing the cost of ammo has a big impact on the game - also make it so that u can sell ammo for $$ [can u? haven't played BS].

u respawning wd b a non-issue if they would just give health back 2 the enemies/new enemies when u respawn, infact would make the game a lot more fun. again, like stalker, u would always be wary when entering a new area because the bad guys will probably be back [until u learn where they generall spawn then.... yawnz].

    modding

this modding you guys are talking about, is it just for pc, mods for 360 would be through DLC right ? for example a harder setting

That's kinda what I was trying to do. I tried to make some changes to the ConfigINI.IBF but they wouldn't "take" in game. Started a new game, and still my changes were ignored. I'm assuming they are being referenced somewhere else but I haven't found tham yet. I wonder if we are going to need a -dev mode to get changes to work?

If this mode could be added to the XBox 360 version in an update then I'd be happy.

Isn't it against the rules to bump threads?

If no one is posting on one, I'd think that would mean it is time for it to die.

Refering to number 3-I was always out of ammo, it took so much more to do damage later in the game, plasmids seemed to also become almost usless for me they just seemed to slow down or immoblise not really doing damage.

have you guys gotten down to baysphere yet, it gets hell of a lot harder. I find that most of the time in the game I will always have 9 medkits and max plasmid juice with me, and then occasionally in one big fight I would drop down to few medkits and plasmids and then go back up to max for a while.
