    super stutter

    okay!

a few days ago i posted about a problem i had with the game starting up. i used the -dx9 thing and it finally worked. i don't know if what i'm about to say has anything to do with this but i thought u should know.

whenever i start a level it stutters like CRAZY! it's completely unbearable stuttering that will freeze for several seconds. the sound doesnt stutter, just the video. like, when i start the "welcome to rapture" level, you'll hear the splicer ripping the guy up when the elevator hasnt even made it there yet because of stuttering.

the stutter only goes away if i move like 300 feet from the beginning of the new level and it still stutters some after that. this means that for the first 10 minutes of the level i cant do anything but stare at the floor and run ahead.

anyone know a solution to this stuttering hell? i tried several different graphics drivers including the new nvidia bioshock one. here's my specs:

    Machine name: AWESOME-PC
Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6000) (6000.vista_rtm.061101-2205)
    Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
    System Manufacturer: Acer
    System Model: Aspire T180
BIOS: )Phoenix - Award WorkstationBIOS v6.00PG
    Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ (2 CPUs), ~2.3GHz
    Memory: 1022MB RAM
Page File: 818MB used, 1476MB available
    Windows Dir: C:\Windows
    DirectX Version: DirectX 10
    DX Setup Parameters: Not found
GFX card: Nvidia Geforce 8500 GT

    PLEASE HELP! thanks.

What are the settings in game at right now?

Are you running default settings, or turned on/off a number of things?Try messing with settings in-game, like disabling the advanced post-processing effects and see if it helps at all.

Your video card, with the geforce 8500 GT you should be glad if the game is playable at 800x600 on minimum details, the card just don't have enough power and as it can't render frames fast enough you get a stutter.
