    Disconnecting Issues

Has anyone else been getting disconnected a lot lately? Not frozen, but disconnected? I just got 5 straight losses added to my record thanks to this. I probably would have won 4/5 but instead i lost 5/5. Awesome. Anyone know why this might be happening or have similar issues? I have already searched online, rebooted my router, allowed the ports, allowed UPnP, in short, I've done it all.

It can't be the game, it does it in every other game I have and on the dashboard as well. I have done everything to fix it. It just gave up on me.

Probably your ISP then. If your connection is going bad and you're losing lots of packets and stuff, you might not notice with normal Internet browsing, but it'll totally wreck your ability to play online. CivRev is more sensitive to this stuff than other games.

Or could be you need a new router. In my experience they are good for about two years.

Yeah the router is brand new. Maybe the ISP I'll have a chat with them. I just am pissed because I was getting close to the top 100 again after the leaderboard glitched me fown to 3605 last month haha.

Did the problems start with the new router? Maybe it's faulty.

    I'm curious about people's speeds? I run at 3mb.

Use this site - http://www.speedtest.net/ - it is the best speed test site.

Let me know what you get. I'm guessing five times what I have?

I'm a bit faster than that. 25Mbps download and 20Mbps upload. Fiber optics. Works pretty well.

Well wow, I usually run at 2.7mb down, 300kps up, 50 to 80 ping.

I now see why my bygone attempts at the leaderboards were frustrating, couldn't even connect to people in ffa, took others ages to connect to me.

The college i'm going to during the year runs at 90mb down, 18mb up and only 27ms ping. Obviously they have their own servers and fiber optic connections.

We have the fastest available connection from our ISP, the router was working fine up until like two days ago. I think it may be the PoS modem they gave us. I'll have to investigate further.

I am on 1.3Mbs download 0.29mbs upload, which is normal here for 3G.

Also I am experiencing lots of disconnections this last week.

I had 4 disconnects in one day either tuesday or wednesday. It was definitely worse than normal and I lost about 60 points and 40 spots...

However I think it's just coincidence, because once you are out of the lobby and into the game, I'm think the central servers have nothing to do with it, the players' xboxes just communicate with one another (or so I assume). If I am right then something like their servers having a bad week wouldn't explain it.

I quit. Since I posted this it happened 3 more times. Grand total: 8 losses. I was around 150 before this and I fixed it a few days made up for it then it just happened again so I am down to 160 now.

Rambler, does it take you to victory screen to sho you've won but opponent has left? I've had this happen to me quite a lot over the past few weeks where there is no real reason for them leaving and then I get the message you have disconnected from the network and will be taken back to the menu screen. I have to reset PS3 for it to realise I am still connected.

LIam I lost twice this weekend because of this as well. How do you reset the PS3 and still stay in the game? Is this even possible? It is very frustrating......

No sorry I'm confusing you. The game is over. Although it says I have won and probably would of won I haven't the opponent gets the victory. It then says you have disconnected from the network bla bla bla and I get main menu come up. At that point I check to see if I am still signed in. (Which I am) Although when I click on multiplayer then player or ranked it says I must sign in to proceed (even though I already am). At this point I have to reset PS3 to get everything working again.
