    Unhappy Graphical error in multiplayer

    First: I'm from Chile and i don't talk english so if i make some mistakes writing please forgive me.

    Ok, the problem i have is when i play in multiplayer mode, the graphics doesn't show as in the single player mode; in single player runs excellent whit a resolution of 1360*768 and all the effects activated but when i switch to multiplayer and start a game, even in the apartment, the quality of video it's too low, seems to be running on 800*600 but the configuration as the same as in singleplayer, please help me, i don't know what could be the problem.

    I have a nvidia 9500 GT whit 512 Mb on video.
    2 Gb RAM.

    Single Player and Multiplayer should have their own settings if I remember correctly. It's because even though they are both "BioShock 2," they are basically 2 games, they were developed separately by different companies, and in the game files, each one has its own executable file and other files.

    When you have loaded the Multiplayer game, go into Options and check the settings, and make sure the resolution is 1360x768, the same as your Single Player, and check any other settings too.

    Yes, the muliplayer has his own configuration, but it's the same as the singleplayer one, resolution 1360*760 and effects activated, the problem it's only with the multiplayer.

    your best bet is probably to go into your *user*\app data\roaming\bioshock 2\ folder and delete the multiplayer config file(s?). then restart multiplayer and see what's changed.

    There should be 3 .ini configuration files for Multiplayer:

    BioShock2MP.ini
    UserMP.ini
    User_YOURGAMERTAG.ini

    Didn't work , i was erased those 3 files but nothing happened, still the same problem, but the problem could be in the Bioshock2MP.ini file, this contains the settings like resolution, here a axample.

    [WinDrv.WindowsClient]
    WindowedViewportX=1354
    WindowedViewportY=740
    FullscreenViewportX=1360
    FullscreenViewportY=768
    MenuViewportX=1024

    the file shows my resolution, even the menu seems to be good, it's only when i play or stay into the apartment, maybe could be the antialiasing? or the drivers.

    now i remember, in the installation was a problem with visual studio, that program shows me a error message in the installation, could be that the problem?

    When you're playing Multiplayer, try taking a screenshot, with Fraps if you have it, or just press Print Screen.

    Then go into Paint or any photo editing software, and look at your screenshot - if you used Print Screen, you can just paste from the clipboard in Paint.

    Then you'll see what resolution the screenshot is, and you'll know if the game is running the correct resolution.

    Then you'll know if it's a quality issue and the graphics just aren't like you expect them to be, or if it's actually some weird bug where you're getting a lower resolution.

    BioShock 2 doesn't have built-in AA, so if you want to run AA, you have to force it with your graphics card, if your graphics card has that option.

    I doubt it's the issue you had during installation - anything like that should affect both SP and MP, not just one of them - however, anytime you have an error during installation, that should be a sign to you that something is wrong and you should probably start again or try to solve that problem.

    The problem isn't the resolution, maybe the MP it's optimized for speed and not for quality, if a graphic problem exists i hope the next drivers for my video card solve this, thanks for your support.

    Same problem here, with patch 1.5 and 1360x768.

    No problem @1280x1024 (old monitor).

    I think 1360x768 is listed but unsopported and the engine makes an internal rescaling@1360x768?
    And yes, the config files seem ALL correct.....but in game the resolution is terrible (far worse than "no AA").

    In windowed mode NO PROBLEM! Only in fullscreen mode.
