complaing about piracy policy. (not flamming)

    hello, 2k games' guys.

i've played the steam demo version of bioshock, and i enjoyed myself playing it. but yesterday i red about the piracy policy 2k games and securom have.

supposedly, bioshock's securom only allow to install the game in two computers, because you think that if it installed in more computers means that it has been pirated.

well, here is the problem: with other anti-copy protection, the company only attacks people who has a pirated copy of the game. but with that you are saying "buyer, you are a potential pirate, so we will control you". in my european way of think, where people have rights, i think that is an insult.

moreover, some days ago my computer brokened, so i changed it, but the data in the hard disk was lost. so, in the case i would have bioshock installed, i lose one install. that's no so strange, so it can ocur several times to several people.

    so, the question is:

is really worthy insult your legal buyers calling them pirates, and making that some legal buyers lose their games because their computers broken?

(PS: there is available a cracked version in the net...your copy protection only last two days...so...IT IS REALLY WORTHY?)

  2. I totally agree with you.
I just think about my PC-pasts...
2 PC's wasted themselfs, dunno why...
I wouldn't have had the possibility to uninstall to get my "Slots" back and would have to buy a new game?

With that sort of Activation 2K is pushing the costumer to criminalize themselfs.
I do not hide, that if I lose my Slots due to HDD-Crashs etc. that I would not rebuy Bioshock but would disable the Activation. I really like the game and it's lotsa fun but if I have to fear about losing my game due that stupid "protection" which only affects the costumer and not the pirates I lose all my fun again.

I really hope that in the case of losing the Slots, a mail is enough to get the Slots back.

Yes it is worth it to them. Every penny spent pissing off their consumers was well spent. And dont stop for a moment to believe they wont do it again.

And no, they refuse to acknowledge that the cracked version on the net works even though multiple sites and forums outside of here have verified it as working.

I just think that more should have been spent either by SecuROM or 2K to cope with the vast ammount of traffic that surely must have been predicted. It's annoying having to wait almost 12hrs just to be able to play a legitimate copy of the game.
