    H2H Bracket #4

Rules will go as follows: (as referred to in the "Let's Have a tourney!!" thread)

    - No using power civs (zulu, china, america).
    - H2H best 2/3 elimination 8-man bracket style.
    - No using same civ twice.
    - No stealing barb reward
    - no demo glitching, no GW glitching.
    - no adar
    - Ensure hosting of games go back and forth between the players. first host is determined by the brackets. (player 1 hosts game 1, player 2 hosts game 2, player 1 hosts game 3) It'll be listed with the matches.

Please guys, NO intentional glitching! Lets play fair games with good results.
Both players need to report results. If one player reports, and the other does not, the player who reported will receive the win. Please report which civs were used by each player.

In the case of a freeze, report back to this thread for further discussion. If the game was still in the ancient Era when freeze took place, just go ahead and restart the game.

You might want to mention if this bracket can use A-dar or not.

    true.

I'll follow grayson's lead and say no. I think the championship bracket will allow adar since that's the original rules, but the no adar rule made for more interesting games last bracket.

In my humble opinion, there should be a rule on hosting. Players should take turns with it, or something like that.

We could write it down. So far we've done the back and forth for it.

Has there been a situation where it didn't do it? I expect that hosting should go back and forth though.

It might help if it's explicit. Sometimes people don't know about it or they're not on top of communication. I think it could help....

A gentleman's agreement should be sufficient much of the time. I know games sometimes get buggy when Grayson hosts so a hard and fast rule might not be appropriate.

Just remember: don't pick Arabs unless you're the host if your opponent might pick the Arabs.

Whenever the games get announced, whoever I am playing just send me a friend request. My system is set for friends only communication due to douche baggery on Xbox live.

I'm available to play Monday thru Friday anytime after 6pm CST. And anytime on Saturday and Sundays.

i would be up for another tournament if there is still room. Lost in the firstround to headless- a straight 2-0, but he has beaten others like that too in the tournie so i don't feel so bad!

I too lost to the headless buzzsaw two nil. The sad thing is their was nothing I could have done differently to change that outcome either. oh well another tournament means another opportunity.

Am I allowed to sign up for more brackets now that I've won one? If so, sign me up! If I win this one as well, I will destroy myself in the bracket champion bracket!

Am I too late? It would be my first tourney, but I'm anxious to play against people that I may actually talk to or play again at some point. If there is room, I'd like to throw my hat in the ring.

that'd be a funny match to watch.

but alas, no. You won the first time, too bad

    @the rest:

Anyone else want in? One spot left.

I don't want to commit duke to this one, since he's got a good chance to win #3 still.

Thats great! I assume that all the info i will need is at the beginning of this thread? That or it is forthcoming? Don't wanna be a pest, but I wanna make sure I know all the rules and have all the info, so I make sure I am ready to go at the proper time and date.
I maybe out pretty fast, but once I get my feet wet in the tourney process it may open it up for future ones.
    Anyway, Thanks for the spot!

The first post will contain all of the information. Primarily, no cheating/glitching.

When this bracket starts, I'll add the groups so that you know who you're playing.

Great. Looking forward to it. I read the rules and I love the "no power civs" That way its not 4 American, 2 Chinese and 2 Zulu lol!
    A quick question or 2...

Once all spots are filled and the matches are set. Will there be a certain time/day to do it, or do the players hook up and figure it out?

Also, do we know what civ the other is picking and vice-versa? Or do we just know who they wont/cant be? (ie. Power civs and previously used ones)

Lastly, I see that it is best 2 out of 3 to advance to the next round. Once you use a civ, you can't use them again. Is that per round or per game? Like, do I have to use 3 different civs if round 1 goes 3 games? Does it reset in round 2? Not sure if its even possible, but has anyone ever "run out" of civs?

I think that's it. Just wanna be super clear, so that once we start, everything goes smoothly and I don't mess up/interrupt with dumb questions.

    RUSH on my freinds!

It's up to the players in the match to figure out when a good time is. If a time can't be found within a week, then I may make a decision (mainly for first round matches).

    civs:
You only know what civs people have already used and that they can't use americans/chinese/zulu. that's it.

No using the same civ twice counts for the whole bracket. You can't run out of civs (13 possible civs, 9 possible matches) So use the civs wisely.

Awesome! What a great rule/idea. I've never played in a structured system before. Though I have tried to get my opponents in H2H and sometimes FFA games to all go random with me, but odds are they don't, especially with no way of proving nor accountability anyway. Thanks for the info.

    RUSH on my friends!

@Zef - I'm trying. More so to improve my game, but months and months of random has helped a bunch. H2H is around 100 and so was FFA until I got reset. I figure, Play cuz I enjoy it, Learn as I go and no matter what hand I'm dealt, do my best to make a game of it. If I manage to win some games and my rank improves, thats a nice bonus. Thanks for the kind words.

    @Thrashman - Simply...HAH!

Now I see that I drew the Zefster in round 1. As of yesterday I was ranked 112 in H2H and ohbuggerit was 111, so I thought that would be an interesting matchup. Apparently, Madjiin hates me face and put me against Zef!

@Zef - I'm a a single daddy to a very cool 4.5 year old little girl. Only problem is...she requires food 3, 4 sometimes 5 times a day!! I'm typing on my PC now, but can forum check on my phone. Maybe we can hook up for a game or 2 tonight. I'm east coast, how 'bout you?
Should we take this to private messages? Not sure how that would work on my P.O.S. Blackberry though. Anyway, if your available later on tonight, let me know and we can hammer out (a pun!) a time.

I random'd the matches, and that's what happened.

rank doesn't matter. we've all been there at some point then got resynched. besides, you should be able to win all matches, rather than have an easy start

You couldnt be more correct Madjiin. i was just playing around with the "hate my face" comment. More of an ode to Zef's playing ability than anything. Never looked at any name on the list and considered it a potential "easy" win. I've played a few great games that stand out in my mind, but also laid a few massive eggs and cried myself to sleep.
Looking forward to playing. Patiently waiting on from the Zefster. Second, third and fourth guessing myself as far as civ choice. Was thinking of putting a bunch of berets on the Americans and pretending to be France!
