    Real in-depth character development...

There's other posts about the selection of characters we got which is plenty in my opinion compared to other games.

and its a cool little add on that 2k gave us backgrounds and stories to each person but i think they could have taken it a step further...

right now we all look like real people that were picked out of rapture and have no visible problems with us. Ever look at the deco devolution book pictures of the mp characters. it shows them how they are now and it shows some of them really spliced up and mutated. i think 2k should have added that as you play more, level up, and basically splice more and more we should have slowly changed into what we see them as in SP. Boils, tumors, skin falling off, clothes torn, etc. I realize it would have been a lot of extra work making all these different forms of people but it really would have added a lot to the story of what its like to really loose it in rapture and become a splicer.

Do any of the art books show what the people inside the Big Daddy suits look like?

Now that's something I'd be interested in seeing. They must be gigantic and mutated as all hell to be able to fit into one of those suits.

By the way, I know you're new so you might not have seen it but we've talked about this before: As you level up, your character actually does undergo some deformities after using Adam. It only happens once though and many of us agreed that it would have been more interesting if it became progressively worse the more you leveled up.

Does it really? That's awesome, the "Little Sister" portion of the game was my favorite part of the sequel. It really captured that innovative and immersive feel of the original Bioshock that I feel was missing from a lot of the sequel.

yea he's gold and look like they hoover/fly with a jetpack sort of think (which is where they're oxygen tank is"

Quote "We had the idea that they were seen through the Little Sister's eyes as wind up toys, old time tin toys that are gorgeous and shimmering. We fooled around with the idea of having a wind-up crank on their backs"

Quote 2 "All the deco Daddies look more or less like knights in shinning armor. That's how Big Sisters and Little Sister's have such love for this character. This is how they see the Big Daddy - as this perfect thing"

Quote 3 "This big daddy was Eleanor's vision of the perfect Big Daddy. It has this knight in shinning armor feel about it. It was quite tall and ornate with a lot of long, vertical forms. Iw was quite a beautiful character. I was sort of disappointed that we didn't get it into the game.

I loved how the Big Daddy looks like to the Little Sisters, Althea, if you want to check it out but don't have the art book, there's a really big statue of this golden Big Daddy, in the main area of Outer Persephone, when you play as the Little Sister.

As for the more spliced-up look, I would like it if our characters became more spliced-up in the process of leveling up, but only if we ourselves would be able to see the change, for example if there was a mirror in the apartment.

Well, there is a definite difference in what you look like in your apartment, and what you look like to others out on the battlefield.

But, it's in no way as spliced as the concept art showed...in the case of Louie, he looked HIDEOUS spliced, but in-game his spliced form isn't that bad. Same with Blanche, really.

And the opposite's true for Naledi. She looks far more grotesque in game than she did in the artbook.

After looking at those images, and playing the game again, I noticed that they are indeed in the game. In the artbook it says something like "I wish we could have gotten these in the game because they turned out so great.

If you want to see what Big Daddies look like to little sisters (More like an Egyptian god covered in gold, with a twist of Ironman super hero.)

When you play as the little sister, look at Delta on the stretcher. Also in the room where Eleanor is, there is a HUGE statue of what normal BDs look like to them.

The first couple times I played, this just didn't register because I didn't know what it was supposed to represent. Am I crazy or did anyone else not really see these images for what they are until it was pointed out?

I forgot about that. During the LS portion of the game, there are several statues spread throughout the halls of Rapture, representing how the Little Sisters perceived Delta's dealings with Grace, Stanley and Gil.

Yeah but those are all solid red structures. This statue is 3x bigger than those and is what the BDs look like to the little sisters. Very similar to the patterns on Delta, but I think the giant statue is of a Rosie since it has a gun if I remember correctly.
