How do you think the franchise should end? I think they should have 4 games in the franchise:
    Bioshock 1 x
    Bioshock 2 x
Bioshock 3 the final installment in the fall of Rapture thing and at the end you should have a choice to destroy or save Rapture!
Bioshock 4 a prequel, sort of a thank you to the fans and you can go back and play during the climax before the Kashmir restaurant.

I think Bioshock 1 should have been the end. But that's just me...

They can keep it going as long as it stays good.
Though 3 or 4 is probably a good times to stop

I think Bioshock 1 should have been the ending. I had a major amount of fun playing BS2 but the story seemed rushed and sloppy.

Bioshock 1 and 2 are equal amounts of fun. If Bioshock 3 can top them both off, that's as good as it will ever get. I want Bioshock 3 to end the story. Of course, if they're going to make it like Star Wars, I'm assuming that each game (BS 1-3) gets its own prequel.

IF its good, then Id like to see a third and then end Rapture with that. I love Bioshock and Rapture and all, but I dont want to see the series turn into some sort of cash cow series.

And I doubt that we will ever see a prequel. Not much happened in Rapture then, and you wouldnt get the creepy, horror elements that the series is known for.

It's already turned into a cash cow series. Making a Bioshock 2 was a strong indicator.

I disagree, Rapture still has many stories to tell and true fans want to hear every one!

I would be fine if they end the series with BS2. But I wouldn't mind if they decided to squeeze out one more

    where's the option for 2?

after the last game...I don't think I want another bioshock...

I don't really trust 2k with the story anymore...

and what else are they gonna do?

    we've visited the pre-bio days...

    the civil war/downfall days...

    and the aftermath days...

the story's been told...I think it's time to move on.

It really irks me that people think that if a gamer refuses to buy bull**** sequels of a game he once really liked that he is not a true fan.

well look at final fantasy, 13 mother****ing games that don't make sense anymore. but "true fans" still play them, they don't care that it sucks, they just want to play them for the experience! of still finding out the long lived question of: what happens next!

    That actually makes sense. o.o

But I'd rather not be a moron "true fan" and waste money on a game that's not very good just to find out the sloppy plot they've laid out for me.

I think a true fan knows when to stop buying a game if it isn't good anymore. There's a difference between a fan and an obsessed loser.

I think a trilogy would be best. Beginning, middle, and end, you know? Besides, any more and it's likely to become a cash cow.

That's stupid. It's like saying if they told you to sacrifice yourself in order to get a free copy of one of their posters, you'd skin yourself alive...

Being a hardcore fan in general is pointless. It doesn't really mean anything. I promise you that every single person on this site is a fan of Bioshock, Bioshock 2, and/or some other game from 2K. What makes someone a more "hardcore" fan than someone else? The willingness to blindly wander into the unknown without the barest consideration on whether something is of any value? Maybe, but what does it really mean?

In short, I agree with you. There's no point in calling yourself a hardcore fan. It doesn't mean anything when your surrounded by some of the most dedicated fans you'll find.

I say 3. Making a secound wasnt turning it into a cash cow, people asked for it and were willing to buy- its called good business, if Bioshock had become cash cow we would see Bioshock energy drinks, more advertisements, life sized Big Daddy drills (which Id buy) etc.

Bioshock 3 should end Rapture and the narrative, if it leaves Rapture and doesnt destroy it, THEN Bioshock has become a cash cow- and 2K has lost my respect.

Well, I'm sorry to inform you...but if that's really how you perceive life, you belong in a hospital.

Right now I am being serious. You need to grasp reality and stop living in the dream world. I love BioShock, but you are unhealthy, and it's not funny. You just need to stop striving for attention, because I don't know what the world has taught you, but this needs to stop.

Judging by your posts, you are NOT a major BioShock fan, but for some reason you want to be looked upon that way. We don't want to constantly hear stuff like...

"I'm hardcore, ur not cuz you wont cut yourself for BioShock."

Please shut up, and act like a real person and a real forum member that treats others fairly.

^lol EDIT: damnit new page, but still funny Rybow

Anyway, as bad as I wanted a sequel, in hindsight I really wish they just woulda stopped at 1. The absolute debauchery that this game turned into, and how terribly 2K has handled everything is such a disgrace, and I really hope they don't try to do it all over again.

Rapture can't really last much longer anyway (without getting ridicules anyway) The cities falling apart. It has to end at some point.
I said I would be fine with whatever they make as long as it stays good and I meant that, if they can make 7 games that are still good and logical that’s great but I don't think they can.
4 games is probably the max. Possibly one more to conclude and maybe a prequel, tho I’m not sure how great that would be. I think the MP is the closest thing we’re going to get to a prequel.Problem with setting it before everything went to hell...what are you going to shoot and how are they going to make it game rather than a cinematic?
This isn't final fantasy (witch I hate anyway but that’s beside the point). Final fantasy is a whole new universe and the games are independent stories, just set in the same universe. Well at least that’s what I got from the few I played.
Bioshock is in a semi realistic alternate reality and is set in a city so it’s limited in that sense. Yes there are many different intertwining stories in rapture but it’s just not big enough to carry through so many games.

I thought 2k wanted to make a franchise? (5-6 games) I'm rather sceptical though, can the future games really beat the originals?

I agree and disagree. As we walk around the sea floor, we can see Rapture has a LOT of building we haven't touched on. Which in a lot of ways leaves the door open for new and exciting places.

Personally, Bioshock never gets old to me. Admittedly, 1 was better in my eyes, but 2 was still one of the greats. No matter how many Bioshock games are made, I'll be getting them. I can't resist.

I agree, although I think it could've ended well with BioShock 1. We obviously want to see Rapture continue to live on, but story wise, I think BioShock 1's story would have sufficed.

You know i don't understand why: If we don't want more than Bio 3, then why are we even on these forums? I'm on it because I'm a hardcore fan like many of you know. But if you guys don't see how it can do anymore, why are you still here?

Im a fan but theres a limit to telling a good story. Eventually the bioshock universe would get completely unbelievable. If you were a real fan you would know that eventually the story must end, even if trully you dont want it to. Your not being a fan by saying: "I'm a hardcore fan you guys arent fans if you dont want the franchise to never end like I do!" Your just being ridiculous. The main reason Bioshock can only have 3 stories, (4 tops) is because eventually people would be like, "Rapture's so dull go somewhere else" (some already have.) Rapture is the most important character in Bioshock, its loss, means Bioshocks death.

Because some of us a fans of the 1st 2 games but don't want to see it ruined by being turned into another cash cow series

Big difference between what I am saying and what you think I am saying. I'm talking about some people who don't want the franchise to live up to it's full potential. I know that a story must end. But three games come on! you've seen how big Rapture is and i can't all be explained in 3 games. There is a hell of a lot that is still unexplained and i want to see all of it!
