    BioShock tattoo...

I know it's a bit early to be making such grandiose notions, but I am seriously considering a BioShock tattoo for my first.
The game isn't out yet, I have a rule that I won't do it until I play the game and confirm that it truly is the best game ever...there is little doubt in my mind that it will be.

So the question is, what should I go for for a design?

These are rough vectors...if anyone has any better ones, PM me with a link to the Illustrator and/or PS files plz

    Option 1:
    http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...eb/Bx_Logo.gif

    Option 2:
    http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...r_insignia.gif

    Option 3:
This one is up in the air, but I was thinking:

    • Big Daddy in cool pose
    • silhouette of big daddy & little sister holding hands
    • HYPO syringe of specific plasmid or ADAM source, looking like it's sticking into the skin
    • A cool looking deco sign in matching lettering tattoo'd on the stomach below the navel reading "Rapture, this way" with an arrow pointing down muahaha

Now the question is...where on the body would be appropriate for which design?
Keep in mind i work in an office...have long hair...and regularly wear band t-shirts to work but i need to pick an inconspicuous spot in case I end up at a job that's not so laid back.

If you really want a tattoo, go for doors. In fact even if BioShock fails, this is still great symbol for a tattoo.

    o rly? that isn't a bad thing y'know

Is there any chance that you could conjure up some of the original vector files of the emblems like that one? and/or the designs for the 100x100 ones that were in the fankit?

That would be awesome...i would be eternally grateful.

Door symbol by far. Like someone said, if you don't like the game at least it still looks good.

Damn, If I wasn't afraid of pain I would totally get one myself.

Well your skin gets all wrinkly and I donno about you but when I see older people with tattoos I just think ew. If someone has to get a tattoo (which they dont) get something that is truly meaningful and not something that will mean nothing in a year or less. Of course I think a tat of a video game has no meaning to begin with.

Then this confirms, along with your Halo avatar that you are not an actual gamer.

Go here to see the folks out there who are dedicated enough to even the 8-bit games to sport their sometimes simple graphics.
Does this have much deep, meaningful context? Not so much; but it sure as hell means gaming is a top priority for them and something they take very seriously. I gotta say, I'm one of these people...and I know a lot of the rest of you are too.

Please, if you can't relate then don't try to jump into conversation about it because we'll never see eye to and you'll only get the enthusiastic folks like us, who can relate, all riled up.

let's keep our tattoo thread nice!

tattoos are very personal, and i don't think anyone should be negative about them. whether you love them, hate them, or something entirely different, let's try and be productive and positive.

You should comb through the art thread, and the coverart submission thread to get some good ideas. That's what I did, and took the best to my tat-artist bud

Get the second one. That ways people will ask you about it. If you get the first one, they might just think it's some advertisement label.

gah, my idea was stolen! I was thinking the same door symbol. Oh well. I'm getting the first level from mario along the side of my back, and a portrait of Jane Doe (my avatar), sometime at the end of summer. I already have a tat, I got it on my 18th birthday, and I will say that it doesn't hurt at all. Well, it feels hot for the first couple seconds, but that's it.

Now to think of a new tat idea. I was thinking maybe a big daddie drilling someone...

Reminds me of a Playstation 2 promotion at the console's launch day:

Get a Playstation 2 tattoo on your skin and receive a free console.

How about Bioshock tattoos and free LEs ?

A local tattoo parlor in my area has begun using hypnotherapy to ease/relieve the pain of getting a tattoo, with mostly positive results. When going for a tattoo, you may ask the proprietor their thoughts on it, as well as for any recommendations on where to find the therapist.

Personally, I think you would do well to go with
    http://www.2kgames.com/cultofrapture...inalists/9.jpg
as a third option. It looks cool, and no matter how you feel about the game in the future, it will still be a good convo starter.

You're right, i do like that piece quite a bit, but it might be a little too big, depending on where i get it done on my body. The back would be a good spot for a big one of that...but I don't have that kind of money to throw around. Aghhh I need something cool. I wanna take the Rapture door design and spice it up a bit. Anyone feel like helping?
