I had a plaster splicer in FF come right behind me she smacked me and my big daddy smacked her off a balcony, scary AND funny
lol. That scared the **** out of me. Its in the medical pavilion inside Dandy Dental (I think). You grab the plasmid and it gets misty and then you turn around and there is a freaking splicer a foot behind you and it scares the **** out of you, especially when its your first time playing the game.
You got that right. I started playing through the game again to get some of the achievements, and i missed that plasmid my first game. rofl, i was in my hotel room when i got the plasmid, turned around and the freaking splicer is like right there. i was like ****! lad i had my shotgun out to calm my fears. Defiently my most scariest moment.
2K has good scare tatics
Haha..
for me, the general medical pavilion(?) place was pretty scary for me. (It almost prevented me from continuing to play Bioshock and finish the game.) Especially, the dentist's office(?) was quite scary.
Also, the few times when the corpses of splicers came to life scared me quite a bit :P
Besides those things, Bioshock was just pure excitement and awesomeness.![]()
Good times in BioShock.![]()
Scary parts...
Well there were a lot of them. That dentist scared me so much. It was especially bad because I stood facing away from him for a really long time because I was thinking about what to do with my tonics. After about five minutes of standing there I turn around face to face with him. I shrieked like a little girl and proceded to brain him with my wrench. After I killed him I beat his corpse for about five minutes.
The guy in the morgue that disappears scared me as well but not as much.
The moving statues also scared me so much. Walking past them. They disappear. Turn around. There it is very much alive. And then the wrench inspired massacure began as I ran through the entire area braining anything in my path.
Including big daddies.
Uh oh.
Creepiest part would probably be the little sisters at the end. That just disturbed me beyond anything else.
The dentist and the mortician were scary. Medical Pavillion is a really creepy place.
The scariest part of Bioshock for me is where u take a peek at Dr. Steinman going crazy and cutting up the women, then you go down and kill that song of a *****. On the operating table is the Audio Diary. You hear that Dr.Steinman had done a perfect procedure.
"Steinman: Four-oh silk and ...done.
Nurse: The nose looks terrific, Doctor Steinman ...Doctor?
Steinman: You know, looking at her now... I didn't realize how much her face sags... Scalpel...
Nurse: Excuse me?
Steinman: Scalpel!
Nurse: Uh, doctor, she's not booked for a face lift...
Steinman: Let's just come in here and... *starts whistling*
Nurse: Doctor... Stop cutting... Doctor, stop cutting... Get me the chief of surgery! Get me the chief of surgery NOW!!!"
The dentist part was a bit surprising too.
The statues wernt that bad...
Poseidon Plaze where you go in to find that guy in the frozen place for the masterpiece. When you walk in you hear him say "I Can See Your Breath." And out of no where he attacks you. I swear I was paranoid in that friggin place after. Hepasputes was also pretty creepy.
i would say when you first meet the houdini splicers you go to a wall and he warps behind you. you look back "hello beautiful" then poof he vanishes and leaves a red cloud . i got to admit that was pretty creepy
omg i did **** my pants in that part he was just staring at me
The only part that actually made me scream....(I'm not kidding, I was at a friend's house and he came to me to ask me what was wrong)...was in the Med Pavillion in the back of Twilight fields, where the doctor jumps out of the door. Another thing that added to my experiance was the fact that I was playing on an 60" Sony Plasma with huge surround sound speakers...MAN I wish I could get that type of experiance on my PC, it's just not as "immersive", as it was on my friends computer. (And I still play bioshock on high settings at a nice resolution). The other part that made me jump was in Posiedon Plaza, in the basement area that was flooded. I knew something would happen when I grabbed the tonic, yeah of course whipped cream splicers everywhere. Some of them caused me to jump though because of the sheer point blank range you have to stand for them to trigger them to come to life.
Mine in order of appearence
First Dentist, although that was only a brief encounter thanks to my shotgun.
Second was the first few Houdini Splicers.
And lastly the Statues. This was probably one of my favourite parts of gameplay in Bioshock and it really sent a shiver down my spine and I was quite shaky afterwards.![]()
After the power to the people upgrade machine, you turn around and there's a spider splicer in your face.
Then theres the room with the water on the floor. I didnt pay much attention to the statues as I went in, I turned around and they had all moved. So to avoid any nasty surprises as I collected the tonic, I set up an intracate web of trap bolts. After I picked up the tonic I headed towards the door. The statue splicers had not moved so I catiously edged towards them, shotgun in hand. As I had expected the came to life as I got up close, the trap bolts did their job nicely and so did the shotgun, there was only one left and as it was running towards me I turned to search the corpse of the one I shot to get its spider heart. When I turned to face the incoming foe I saw that they had frozen again in statue form. Seeing as I was no longer in immediate danger I took the time to select some exploding buck, replenish my heath and eve, then quickly dispatched my enemy.
The only scary one was the Doctor in medi pavilion and Johny's death at the start of the game.
The very begining of the game kind of freaked me out a bit, it might of just been because I'm really jumpy, haha.
Also, the Docter in the Med Pavilion made me jump a good couple feet while playing. xD
The statues were kind of freaky, but the didn't actually /scare/ me. Though, the Houdini splicers startled me at time. x3
It was the same for me as the original posterthe spider splicer statue who you meet sitting on a chair first, and then appears behind you after checking the Power to the People machine..
After that, any statue I saw posing like a dancer, I shot through the head with my crossbow, just to be sure.. lol
I was scared lots of times. LOL
In taht part in arcadia when you go closer to a mask of the houdini splicer then you see a shadow of the guy in the wall, you look back and there it was the houdini splicer right in front of me lol in that time i had the grenade launcher and i shot against the guy and i took damage too LOL.
I remember a room that went pich black for a few months, followedby the sound of splicers lauging and generally enjoying your terror.
That gave me nightmares. *Shudders*
Or the scene where the callgirl's ghost takes you to her room, and you hear her being murdered by andrew ryan.
Followed by the door opening.
Yeah, that freaked me out.
Hmm...The moment in hephaestus were you have to go through the corridor filled with water and a dead big daddy. A couple splicers had hidden on the roof there ^^. Medical aswell, just because it is generally mediciney and hospitalish which freaks me a bit anyway.
Oh and the splicer at the power to the people machine wich has had a few mentions, that thing just appeared and I just thought..wtf that wasn't there!
I almost never used an audio diary unless i absolutely knew i needed it for a code to an elevator or something. In fact all i really collected them for was because i felt like it. I should really go back and listen to each one, that one with the chidl being turned into a little sister sounds so intruiging... but back on topic, i have to say it was the dentist moment. True i jumped when i first saw that some of the bodies were playing dead, but right after that fight i wasn't really scared, more annoyed and thinking "Oh great, now i'm going to have to whack every 'dead' body i come across"
Oh yes, one thing that made me shiver, not necesarily scary but still, was in Fort Frolic trying to collect the picutres. Those two statues standing beside the masterpeice and cowering in fear, the first time i saw them i slowly crept up from behind and smacked em both with my wrench, seeing nothing happened i smacked em a few more times. It was just really creepy having those things right there while you're putting the pictures on the masterpeice and i tried to avoid looking at them, but i almsot always failed. Unfortunately for me after about the second or third picture i came to put said picture in it's place to see that the statues were now gone. That alone was a bit of relief for me but also creeped me out to no end that they had suddenly dissapeared.
I never noticed any moving statues until the portion in Fort Frolic where i get frozen while looking for the second bastard to take a picture of, and then when i thaw out and i see no one's there besides a few more statues then there were before. At that point me not taking any chances, i incinerated the one closest to me and watch it start flailing around while the others came to life and proceeded to attempt to kick my ass.

The power to the people station in Sinclair Spirits once you use it all the plaster statue splicers come to life and are silent.. I hate this part... also the dentist and the area with the cold morgue area where you go around and there is someone working then the lights go out and he is gone.. then you come back around and he jumps out the storage.. grrr gets me everytime..

I have a couple and they are both on my behalf. The first one was when I was playing through "A Shocking Turn of Events" (DLC for the PS3). I didn't realize that I had Telekinesis equipped, I thought I had Electroshock equipped, and I went to zap the door control. When I went to use my plasmid a corpse came flying at me. I scared the mess out of me. I jumped out of my seat and cried "What the **** was that!?"
The second was during my second play through. I went to get and item and there was a corpse beside it. For some reason the corpse moved closer to me which startled me. I started shooting at thinking it was a Splicer playing dead. While I was doing that I was thinking to myself, "I thought it said, 'Corpse.' I thought it said, 'Corpse.'"
Sorry if this a re-threading. New to the forum.

Just click on the search button at top and in this case I typed "scariest bioshock"
I am going to merge this with the first one.
lol the scariest moment for me in bioshock was the beginning... After watching the scene where johnny or somethinig got killed by a spider slicer, than it started slicing thru the bathysphere, i was like holy****, and trying to click the mouse key, hoping i can attack with fist or something, trying to defend myself...then u get out and walking without any weapons was pretty scary. cuz ur unarmed and some crazy zombie is stalking u. bioshock was the first horror game i played, if u consider it horror...and i dont like dying in games, and i certainly dont like walking around hopelessly under the sea in a ruined city full of zombies...but after this not any other part scared me anymore..
Obtaining the shotgun in Medical Pavilion comes to mind...
oh! maybe that part in Hepheastus where you go into that hallway filled with "dead" splicers![]()
i have three. the first is when you go to get a tonic or something (can't remember what level it was) and when you turn around there is a splicer standing there staring at you. i had to beat him to death with my wrench :P and teh part in medical pavillion where you see a shadow, and then the lights go out, and you turn the corner to see a door close, and then you turn around and a splicer is chasing after you!! and finally the third is also in medical pavillion, where you go into a room with a coffin it in,and as you approach the coffin, a splicer knocks it over and starts shooting at you!! yeah , scary but fun moments :P
The first moment is in Medical Pavilion and the last moment involves a Thuggish splicer who can't shoot you (their only attack is bludgeoning you with a sword, pipe, or wrench).
I have 5 things that realy freaked me out.
1: the good doctor in painless dental. almost fell of my chair becouse of him.
2: the guy "operating" the splicer in twilight fields. I knew he was hiding, but i tought he would show up near the corpse, not after i was going to leave.
3:In hephaestus, the first splicer that acts like it's dead. Wasted 24 pistol shots on the sick bastard.
4: in point promitheus, after you change your voice "dead" splicers spawn outside the room. i did'nt noticed it so when i bolted out of it i was suddenly surrounded and almost needed CPR.
5:The statues in fort frolic (even dead, they're creepy). Thank god i did'nt enter the basement of sinclair spirits or i would have gone paranoid.

I would have to agree on the plastered splicers part In FF. I was playing at roughly 7 am but i had hypnotized the big daddy up there. So i felt Safe :3
Funniest part: "What's this godess? an intruder? He is ugly! UGLY! *fires MG with horrible aim*
The plastered splicers was the scariest part for me. I always make sure I use a decoy and hide in the casinos' and wait for them to attack. During certain playthroughs I don't bother with that PTTP station because I never use all my max upgrade weapons.
Peach Wilkins in general is really creepy. But like many have said, There has been a few times I turned around and a Splicer was right there to give me a damn near panic attack lol.
Almost **** my pants when I heard Big Sister coming after me!![]()

The damn doctor in Painless Dental, when you grab the Tonic and the fog appears.
I turned around to go, but I couldn't becuase there was something blocking my way. I thought "What's this?", then looked straight ahead, in the face region and I realized it was a splicer. It all happened in about a second so when I finally killed him I almost had an accident in my pants.
AND, in my second run I forgot he was there, so rinse and repeat XD
Also when I saw Suchong impaled with tthe drill, I thought he was gonna stand up screaming...
well, this is a startling moment. After i finished the game on hard difficulty, i started again on easy. this was when i noticed the first little sister vent you see. i looked in the little hole, and two yellow lights appeared. i was like "woah!" then i realized it was a little sister.
ok, what REALLY scared me were these 4 things:
1. the dentist's office where you crawl through a window to get through. when it fogged up a second time, i saw a shadow behind me.i switched to a wrench and beat the splicer up.
2. the weird statues in fort froic. no, not the moving ones. im saying the ones in the gents' bathroom. they were posed all weird.
3. again in fort frolic. i went into "cohen's collection of fine art" or something like that. i saw the cemented splicers and the little sister. that creeped me out.
4.random attacks by splicers and big daddies!
oh i forgot this scary moment:
i got a diary that i found somewhere. i listened to it, and some woman was talking about her daughter that if she found the message she would put in the code for room 7 (fontaine fisheries i think?) i found the message and i found the door. i put in the code and (if you didnt find the diary, here comes a spoiler.) I walked in. i put the screens brightness down, so i really couldnt see. i saw light coming from their tv. what i mean by "their" is a dead couple in their bed next to some blue pills. i picked up another diary that was on the bed. i listened to the woman screaming about how her daughter transformed into a little sister. after she screamed "Masha!!!", the tv in the room blew up, revealing a tonic in a hole in the wall . Just to be safe, i shot them so they wouldnt come hit me.
