X-Com FPS. Kill me now! Bring back TBS!

I enjoyed Bioshock as much as the next guy but turning X-Com into an FPS is a horrible idea. I created an account on this forum just to tell you how stupid this idea is.

For 15 years I've been waiting for X-Com 3. Instead I have been forced to endure horrible games that bear the X-Com name. I have played and finished UFO Defence and Terror from the Deep more times than I can count. I have purchased the games on Floppy, CD and now Steam. All of my friends and I talk about the tiny development projects that try to emulate the success of the first two X-Com games with limited budgets. We support them and wish them the best.

2K please bring back what made X-Com great:
Turn Based Strategy
Base Development in the Geoscape
Research and Manufacturing
Destructible Environments
Unit Development
PERMANENT DEATH of Units

If 2k Games makes an X-Com FPS I will never buy a game from this company again.

I miss turn based strategy games more every year. I can only handle so much FPS. Even RTS games are rare these days.

Hey there,

There are a bunch of threads on this topic, so please don't take it personally when I close this one - I encourage you to continue talking about this in the existing threads with other like minded folks. I also ask you to give this game a chance before you condemn it (and sadly, all other 2K titles!) We are a bunch of X-COM nerds over here and are not looking to make something that will not pay homage and do the name and the franchise justice. I hope you will at least give us a chance and read a couple articles on the title (and watch gameplay when we release it!) before you reject XCOM completely.
