Major Confusion. (spoilers)

during my fisrt playthrough of bioshock 2 i didn't really pay much attention to audio dairies and what people were telling me...(one of the reason i spent 15 minutes fighting wave after wave of alphas and brutes. when the glowing tubes were right in front of me...)
...anyways since i wasn't paying attention, while i was in dionysus park i got confused and thought that Stanley was Eleanor's dad and Sophia's husband.
...anybody else got confused and thought this or something else in the game about someone or something?

To me, paying attentions is pretty much the whole point. Otherwise you might as well be playing Tetris.

My First Playtrough My Was A Disaster

1)I Didn't Notice I Had Low Health During The Part in the Diner, Where You Get the Code So I Ran Through the Back And Pop Goes the Weasel I Died From the Trap Spears...


2) And Don't Think Your Alone About Mistaking Ely And Stan...My Tv Was $hit So The Sound Would Die For Minutes or Hours at a Time...So In The Cutscene Where He Takes Her To The Orphanage, I Thought He Molested Her Because All i Heard Was "I Bit Him...."

I'd have to say no, I wasn't confused. I intently listen to all audio/radio messages because I'm more interested in the story and situation in Rapture than the actual gameplay side.

Well considering that we never learn the identity of her biological father, anything's a possibility.

I've never thought of that, that theory is plausible, but Stanley tried to overthrow Lamb and sold Eleanor to an orphanage and for that reason, I don't think he's related.

They were gonna reveal him to be the Father but it wouldn't fit with the story. The weird thing is, I can imagine Delta, Sofia, and Eleanor on the Maury Show. Delta.... you ARE the Father!

Okay, this part was WAAAY confusing, just badly done. In the opening cutscene, Delta is taking down all these guys, and just before he can deck the last man, the dude throws the good ol' hypnotize big daddy plasmid at 'im. Now, bear with me here for a moment:
1. Recall that 'hypnotize big daddy' was advertised as "make big daddy think that you're a little sister! Have him fight to protect you!"
2. In the few seconds right after you get hit by the plasmid, your vision is really blurry. In this time, you turn from facing the guy to facing Eleanor. However, that is super subtle and VERY hard to pick up on, I only saw it the second time I played and that's because I was looking for it.
So what I thought happened was that you saw the guy as the Lil' sis because he hit you with the plasmid, whereas you actually just turned around. When they then explained that the Little Sister was actually a little girl, it was at first very confusing.

This was just not done in a way that conveyed the information well. Very hard to tell what happened.

hmm i wouldn't be surprised if Eleanor's biological dad ended up being one of the Alpha Series but Stanley haha yeah right.

Better chance of her father being Subject Alpha, Beta or Gamma then Stanley :P

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that that sense of disorientation was intentional.
