    Bioshock, the TV series?

Ok, so I've been watching alot of Lost and also a new series called The Prisoner (which is a remake) and I was wondering if anyone would want a TV series?

I think it could work, especially with all the different characters within Rapture...

Although I would rather see a full action film but what does everyone else think?

i think a tv series would do better that a movie, granted only 2 or 3 seasons. a series can show alot more of rapture and her citizens, crazy, or not.

the question is, would it be set after the fall or before it, or heck even during the civil war

also those 2-3 seasons should only be like 10-12 episodes long.

It wouldn't make it. The ratings wouldnt keep the show alive. It would be cancelled after the first three episodes for sure. Its a Stupid idea anyway.

I think a sitcom would be interesting. Hey, they're doing it with Star Wars.

EDIT: Disregard the above... Actually, I recommend reading the article.

    What about a mockumentary?

A stupid idea? Maybe. Just thought I would chuck it out there for all you happy people on the forums.

Like I said, I would prefer a film, plus it would require alot of CGI and it would need to be properly done, or else they might spend all their money on effects and then next to nothing on rubbish actors! lol!

I'd prefer a film as well.

Hopefully, they don't do the whole film in CGI like Resident Evil or Final Fantasy. The "uncanny valley" look distracts me to the point that I find it hard at times to feel for the characters.

I'm not sure how they did the monsters in "Where the Wild Things Are" -a combination of CGI and costumes?-- but those techniques would certainly work.

All Little Sisters would be played by Dakota Fanning's 10 year old clone.....

The TV show idea has it's good points and bad points.

    Bioshock TV Pros:
Can Delve further into backstory and link more easily with Rapture Canon.
Can introduce cameos by in-game characters
Can portray splicers as ordinary people with extraordinary circumstances.
Can deal with either serious situations in a drama setting, like drug abuse (Adam) or child abuse (Little Sisters)

    Cons:
Non-Game fans probably wont get all the references to the game.
Less action than a movie on average
Writing is usually less quality on TV shows, so the dialog and scripting might not be good.
Splicers can't look too disturbing on TV
Can't have too much actual Gore or Disturbing images on TV.

    Talking

(re: Fanning) Ha! Yes, she's eerie. (they're re-running "Taken"-- DF was the perfect age to play an LS then.)

Television is about creating an environment in which interesting stores can occur. I'm not sure Rapture as we know it is one of those environments. BS1 was more like a M. Night Shamalamadingdong movie, with The Big Twist®.

If one could get a series of scripts that show the slow-ish decline of Rapture... maybe. I'm thinking mini-series, not series.

One thing: at least it won't be set in Vancouver B.C.

A sitcom would be devastating to the franchise, who wants to watch a funny show about Bioshock? Doesn't strike me as great source material for comedy.

Even a more serious one hour drama, or serial, wouldn't end up working for the sole reason that production costs would be way way too high. The world is too esoteric to garner enough fan base to cover costs, especially in a climate of production where studios are doing everything to lower costs.

A film has a sliver of a chance though.

    What about the premium channels?

Yeah, the more I thought about it, the more I realized it was a terrible idea.

Yea, premium channels won't take on a show based on a game because on average any media, other than books, that are based on games fail.

not many people would watch it.......because it wont look appealing to some, lost appeals to many on a number of subjects............ bioshock does too, but the whole "its based of a game" thing overshadows its awesomeness..........kinda how when they made the fountainhead movie, it sucked, and lost ALL the appeal it had in the book..............

MIGHT have a very small chance on the Sci-Fi channel and similar channels to it, like SPACE, but at the same time, that's a pretty big risk for them to take on a concept show.

Sc-Fi takes anything, if Bioshock were to appear on Sc-Fi it'd be a real insult to the series. But Bioshock doesn't work on T.V in my opinion.

Actually a TV series might work better than a movie.
Movies are restricted to 3 hours (I think) witch if you were doing a prequel would be far too short to do the story properly.
But TV series tend to have crappy graphics and special affects...
I don't know, id say a prequel would work better as a series and anything past 1959 would work better as an action movie.
Either way it’s not likely to happen, not a big enough audience
