I haven't read the entire thread so bear with me. If your just starting out, hack, research, and hunt for adam vials. This will boost your overall score. It helps. If you know you can't take down the big daddy at least get off a few shots. Try to grab the bd suit. You may die quickly but at least you still get adam for it. Most importantly, move around. Don't just stand still. Also start private matches alone to get the feeling for the map, test your weapons and plasmid combos. This is what I did and still do.

No. If you suicide then it just means you died. It doesn't take away from your kill count; reason why people suicide in the first place since it won't affect your teams score or yours.

I can't seem to get my aerodash to work. It might be the lag, but maybe I am doing something wrong. Do you have to stop pushing forward "running" when you use it? I can only get it to work when I jump first and I am not pushing forward.

Aero Dash is one of the laggiest plasmids. If the floor isn't leveled where you use it, the plasmid basically doesn't work. But if you host then the plasmid works and 100%.

I could be wrong, but it looks like deaths count even if you leave a match on your total player statistics. Is that correct?

Yep. Everything except W/L and Adam.

I also noticed my adam meter resets at the end of each match to the number it was at when I got to level 40. Does that adam still count on my personal statistics or do I have to get the level 50 dlc cap for it to register?

I know. I think the sawed off would go nicely with my freeze/ad loadout.

I need to get a 1 month ps+ code, so I can buy them at discount.

didnt read this thread, have the jist of it though, rearranging your button settings can make some things easier, but too much rearrangement can have the opposite effect so choose wisely, personally i switched my jump and plasmid switch buttons, cant use tk anyways lol, think ill switch to winter blast or houdini and go NiNjA

I don't think I've seen this here, but Electrified Geyser Traps nullifies rez. Well, at least for me. I'll double check again, if so, I think I found my secondary anti-rez technique other than standing on their body

After trying it out a few times in private, it seems legit... It kills me all the time when I equip rez. Can someone else confirm if this works please

Rez becomes less of a problem for me every day. Just seem to be getting the timing down for it. Though if I'm host and your team suicides three times or more, you won't get the win on your stats, I promise.

If you've just begun Bio, camp. There is nothing wrong with hanging around your hacked turret. It can alert you to an opponent and can aid you in a kill. A solid loadout for those with the dlc is sawed off shotgun, firing boost machine gun, electro bolt, and winter blast. Learn to use them. If you play smart you can take down rebirths with them easy. If you can, you should always attempt a back attack. This works well if you shoot first with the pistol or machine gun. If your very close use the shotgun. Also zap a wet opponent. If their in water zap'em, if their in oil incinerate them. The burning oil will aid in a kill if your using machine gun.

Agreed... But another tip for new players using the turret camping strategy: don't use electrobolt. You'll shock them and the first shot the turret lands on them will end the stun, thus letting them move freely again. Winterblast is a much better option for that specific purpose. It just slows them enough for you and your turret to shred them (plus winterblast gives a slight damage increase).

A charged incinerate will also lead to some charbroiled turret deaths as well.

True, but for new players that aren't experienced players using newb loadouts, winterblast helps with tracking your targets since it slows them... whereas incinerate makes them move faster.

Yeah, may have been known by most players, so if this this tip is already in the thread, then my bad

    So.....

If you put two geyser bolts next to each other, the person unfortunate enough to step on the trap has no chance of countering it, even with Aero Dash....

However, single geyser bolt traps can be avoided even if you step on it.... You just need to hit AD before you get launched into the ceiling/air.

I tried countless times trying to Aero Dash across a laid geyser trap in front of me, but don't know if I should be airborne while Ading, or if its just distance, but alas, I always end up getting propelled into the ceiling

Not positive, as it hasn't occurred frequently enough for me to have taken note on it, but I believe Death Trap also negates Rez on occasion. Such as if someone would normally rez and their is a corpse next to them that is nearing explosion, they won't rez. It's happened to me a few times at least.

For the Rez animation to occur, it is required that the space one will spawn at, is not already occupied by an external, foreign agent. Be it a player, object, environment, enclosed vent areas, etc. I do not believe the Death Trap Tonic has anything to do with this. Just a case of misattribution and/or coincidences. Of course, I could be wrong, I hardly use rez or DT, personally, but have killed enough to know about how it work's on the killer's end.

Noob loadout of destruction (dlc players only) Level 1

    Sawed off Shotgun
    Firing Boost Machine gun

    Winter Blast
    Electro Bolt

How to use. Winter blast your opponent and circle around them with the boosted machine gun or hit'm close up with shotgun. Use winter blast on all machines for faster hacking, and to not get blown up by the one's with the red light(vending machines). Semi-camping is a good idea. Keep a loop in one area of the map (good idea to do this near vending machine/turrets). If you kill someone and you don't see your name and the person you killed, freeze or melee them (it's resurrection). Destroy every barrel you come across as well. Look for the freak'n Adam Vials. They help you level up.

Quick thing I just realized last night.

If you shoot someone with the rof crossbow and they go Houdini before you can kill them. Look for the moving arrows. I swear it's freaky but it gives them away. I was able to kill this one Houdini users easy this way.

No. I don't see that many Houdini users. Most Houdini users on ps3 are either no stun head hunters or nailgunners/machine gunners. Then there's me. Most players are electro bolt or tk users.

Feel like it's worth mentioning that leg up is one of the most useful tonics in the game. You can get to places that you probably wouldn't believe possible, and you can even use it to glitch out of the...oh, what the devil is it called...the map with the casinos and whatnot. As a matter of fact, I don't know how many people know about this glitch, so here it is.
In the second floor in the casino, there's a room with some cash registers on a counter and a poster in the corner. The ceiling is glass and rounded at the edge. If you stand against the poster and use leg up, you jump THROUGH the ceiling. You can't be hit, but a smart player can still grenade you. And you can get back in by carefully walking to where the two metal beams on the outside meet. (You have to see it to know what I mean.) I'd give a link to a video, but I'm using my Wii's internet and that's just a hassle, sorry.
Now, to all you folks who are thinking of abusing this for ADAM Grab, just remember that anyone with geyser trap or leg up can get out there, too, and if you do it in a match I'm playing in, I'll get you every time

Some other things to try with leg up:
Get on top of the ledge around the surgery ward of the medical pavillion. There's a bunch of ADAM vials up here, too.
Fontaine Fisheries has a few ledges around the metal supports in the big room with the two turrets. Try getting on top of the highest one to pick off some splicers with fantastic "wtf" results.
In Mercury Suites, you can get on top of the lamp posts at the very top of the elevator. It takes some trying, but you can do it.
In Hephaestus, you can get on top of the lightning bolt sign on the bottom right corner if you aim just right. From there, you can get behind the sign on the ledge there. It's really hard to shoot people from there, though, because the sign's actual size is deceptive, and you'll often find your bullets hitting a wall that isn't there.
In Arcadia, try getting on top of the trees. In the room with the rocket turret next to the hole in the wall, jump on top of the ledge above the vending machine, then jump on the tree. You have to jump directly on top of the trunk, as the branches aren't solid and you'll just fall through. Great for the defenders in Capture the Sister or Team ADAM Grab.
You can also jump on top of the sign in the big room in Arcadia with the water running through it. It's the one above the room to the right of the rocket turret. Try going up there with the little sister in ADAM Grab to really piss off your opponents :P
In Home for the Poor, you can get on top of the ledge above the room where the gatling turret is. Perfect if your team (or just you) has the turret hacked, as most people will focus on the room itself and won't even look up to see you.
Speaking of that turret, most people don't realize that there's a vent that will deposit you right behind it. The entrance is on the second floor to the right of the room with the turret.
You can get on top of the fish tank in Fontaine Fisheries. Not very strategic, but it's got a couple ADAM vials on it.
In the map with the big skeleton in the middle (can't remember the name, sorry), there's a room with a big stone structure. You can jump on top of it to get the jump on anyone entering the room. NO ONE looks up there!
On that same map, you can get on top of the ledge above the gatling turret that's behind the rocket turret.

And that's all I've got for now.

OH, I don't know if it's been mentioned (haven't read the whole thread), but the Big Daddy Suit spawns after two minutes of gameplay time in Civil War and Survival of the Fittest. So once the clock gets close to 13:00 remaining, start heading towards the suit's spawn points. Also, after the daddy dies, it takes two minutes for it to spawn again, so make a note of the timer when you hear the daddy go down.

I used to always try to do this, note the time of the BD death, but I just never did. Guess I was always too busy to use a few of my limited brain cells to take that mental note.

    I just learned something!
I always thought it was when you light someone on fire and shoot grenades at them or something. I feel so tempted to use this, although I know it's cheap. Eh, but hell, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

Be sure to charge the Incinerate then Nade away. Aim at their feet and if you can go for a body shot. Another thing you can do is use Geyser Trap (with a low ceiling) and a vanilla Nade body shot. Two hit kill.

Read this and use it. Makes life in Rapture a lot easier.

Believe me I spent a night messing with different weapon combinations last Saturday. I ended up getting cb-rof single shot headshots. Takes more effort but is more forgiving (at least to me)

This is a good guide, but be advised, not 100% accurate for the PS3.

I just remembered using it when I was new and several times, things it said would get you a kill... wouldn't. Keiji told me at the time that the author was an Xbox user and the data didn't port over exactly between the models. I had to believe him because some of the combos that the sheet says would work simply didn't. But it's close. Just beware when looking for what seem to be undiscovered one shot kill combos. Odds are, they aren't discovered because they won't quite work.
