    moral support?

I saw more people guessing cigarettes than anything else.

SS2 vending machines were a little more inclusive, iirc ... hypos, ammo, cigarettes. All I have to add is that I hope to see plenty of orange soda in this game.

Oh, and the cool kid's name is andrey.

Then may I suggest taking a wrench to it? Hopefully we're afforded that level of interactivity.

ah yes the old indestructible elements in games will they ever get old? like for instance you reach a flimsy almost falling apart wooden door thats locked and you could use 500 tonnes of c4 on it but that door aint gonna budge actually even lights in the room in most games seem to not care, so really ur character should make armour out of all the light-bulbs right?

One of the most satisfying things to do in STALKER is sneak up to the army outpost (in the very first area) and take out the megaphone with a silenced pistol. Then you don't have to hear that annoying bastard rattling on any more.

Unfortunately the megaphone in the Duty base is infuriatingly indestructible.

I've seen the Clown machine twice, once at the beginning of the Hunting the BD video and again at the end of the one with Ken and Joe.
My guess is that these serve the same purpose as the vending machines in SS2-not unless of course,we become so awfully disfigured by over adam consumption, that we too feel the need to wear a gawdy mask!
In fact, when I pick up my copy of Bioshock,I'm really tempted to wear one anyway!

"Clown Machine" is certainly a strange collaboration of words. It sounds like a hideous nightmare! (or a VW Bug). Would make for a great band name.

On a totally unrelated subject, I don't know why it bothers me so much, but every time I hear Melissa in the Hunting the Big Daddy video say, "...the telekinesis plasmid, which comes in really handy when someone throws grenades at me" I get really cheesed off. For some reason I always expect her to say "when someone throws grenades at you" and she never does. Either she is really self-centered and it filters through her speech patterns, or I'm just a jerk who is insanely jealous that she gets to play.

I noticed that "me" too. Either she isn't too used to public speaking, or she was too busy playing to pay attention. In first case, shame on IG. In second case, God bless IG.

Dunno what the machine purpose is, but I think the clown image is simply a circus ad. Kinda like those ads we see in subway.

If you can buy clown masks in a vending machine then I guarantee there will be a splicer out there wearing one. Guarantee.

god, you must be a real shut-in, or YOUR just the one who is self-centered?

couldn't it be that the whole world doesn't have to adhere to your standard of speaking?

i mean i heard her say "me" but i sort of figured that it WAS helping her, she WAS the one playing the game, so naturally it would seem like a pretty stupid thing to say "you" because its not helping you, its helping her

BTW this was the correct quote "look for the use of the teleportation plasmid which will allow me to setup places in the world that i can teleport back to at any time" see how she says NOTHING about grenades?

as a final thought TRY to actually watch the video properly Instead of getting "Cheesed off" by something so petty, do you have no friends in the outsied world? it wouldnt surprise me

With regards to correcting speech; "you're"

I think you are referencing the wrong quote, but I admit I didn't type it word for word.

I'm sorry... truly "cheesed off" was an exaggeration. I just noticed my own flinching reaction to her saying "at me" every time I heard it and thought it was curious - wondered if anyone else felt the same way. And now I know. I have no animosity at all to the girl. She sounds lovely. I just re-listened to her podcast today.

I just wish the statement had been more inclusive so I could feel like a part of the experience, that's all!

I'm just curious about the nature of speech and what it says to other people.
    Do forgive me.

    Pardon me, old chum!
Although I've lived in the states most of my life I was born a brit, like you.

So I have an unnatural predilection towards being polite. (Even if I do bury a little condescension in there somewheres.)

you did say Hunting the big daddy video right? the one with all the stills at the start? and she throws all those grenades at the Big Daddy to kill it? and the sinister walk up to the little sister at the end.

But if there is a different "hunting the big daddy" Video then I'M sorry.

You can call me a SMEG-head anyway lol

an odd thing to say, considering your avatar is a clown.

    or am i missing something

both lurchibald and freshlaundryX, please take some chill pills! having your own opinions is fine and they should be expressed freely; but not at the expense of hurting people.

please do reflect on that. it is a VERY mean thing to say.

as i do also remember 2K-E talking about the telekinesis plasmid with reference to grenades.

personally, she was using correct-person wording. she cannot speak for 'you' as there are many 'you's that would all have different opinions on the tele-plasmid. after being on the forums for a while i rekon she's a great PR that really does care for the community and manages to find ways to help the community while suiting the publisher's business model. heck! someone's even taken to calling her 'rapture mom'!

EDIT: yay! my 600th post :P

have reflected also, mutliple chill-pills taken and downed with a glass of chilled wine but i got the HTBD vid off a friend of mine and he seemed to have shortened it in places cause i downloaded the WHOLE video and i noticed the difference.

so i AM sorry freshlaundryX for my comment i will do further research in the future for my posts and i'll starve away from "nasty" comments, Again freshlaundryX i apologise

PS. im a firm believer in people admitting when they have done something or takin something outa context and this was my time also thanks to borgdrone89 great speech, thanks

Its because that certain clown I love because it is in an awesome lv in the game painkiller but I also hate since it is a clown.

wow this topic certainly jumped off the rails, burst into flames and then imploded in a mass of nonsensical gibbering off topicness.

501105, your avatar rocks - those were the best 'evil' clowns (and frankly, that entire level should win an emmy or something) I've ever seen rendered in a video game. I took her pronoun use simply as the rhetoric of someone really immersed in a game. I know she's talking to us as an audience, but she's not narrating someone else playing (I think), so the first-person is fine. That just makes me think that the game is that much more immersive.

Y'know, stuff. Different machines have different contents. If you hack them, you can get a bigger selection.

I alway considered clowns to be manufactured. There has to be an assembly line somewhere.

I could understand that from a cyberpunk era where the machines produce stuff using nanotechnology, But how would that work with technology from the 40s and 50s?
