If you could have ONE thing put into Bioshock, what would it be?
For me it would be branching plotlines/alternate endings. I really think it would add a lot of re-playability and add more depth to the game.

I second that. Truly branching plotlines would be amazing. By "truly branching" I mean that there would be certain pivotal junctions in the plot, and the choices you make, the things you do and say - effect the rest of the plot from then-on-in irreversably.
i carry the motion, it SHOULD not though be like stalker/(most other games) where you can save it 5 mins from the finish and get ALL of the "Branched" endings by just making a few final tweeks, like for example with bioshock, if you choose to exploit the little sister, once you make that decision early in the game theres no going back unless you play from all the way back at that save near the start, that being said i guess you could just NOT exploit them and save it right near the end and exploit them at the last possible moment![]()
as in Half-life 2, all objects being affected by physics, and being able to pick things up, i had a blasti-blast making a fortress that the combine couldnt get into... untill they started throwing grenades![]()
i'd like to be able to make my own "safe haven" in bioshock that i can go back to and stash things, just to add to the sence of freedom... also related to that would be the ability to create things out of your immediate environment E.G. IRL putting a bucket of water atop a half open door so that when someone walks through the doorway it falls on their head... but in bioshock the bucket of water is replaced with something...far more deadly...![]()
yeah, that'd be pretty cool
I agree that your actions throughout the game should result in a different ending based on what you've done.
But, these games that you set a save file and go back and redo the end of the game... Isn't that your choice to do it? I mean, if you go to the effort of saving a game near the end, and going to that file with a different approach to the situation, you are trying to find something that'll annoy you. Just restart the game.
its not that, it just makes you feel that if you CAN do that then every decision you made 'in-game' was pointless, for myself in games like stalker etc i prefer to start over to see a diff ending, i wasn't saying that i actually do it, but the fact you can diminishes the overall story/gameplay that impacts you as a player![]()
I wish to always be able to shoot the mouthy one at any given moment. Many games force you to listen to them, when nothing would please you more than giving them a severe lead poisoning right in the middle of their speech.
And pretty please, no invulnerable NPCs.
Oh, and no cutscenes that take control away from me. I hate it when they kick on a cutscene just to show how your character gets hit on the back of the head or something like that.
elaborating, no npc's which sustain damage only to a point where the become "unconcious" only to get back up and dust themselves off 30 seconds later.Originally Posted by Rumor
I strongly agree, alternate endings would be a great addition to the game, but they should not be so easily achieved. I also would like rpg elements, like character building and what you do effects the game(do they already have this?) This game already looks great.
Branch-offs where if you do something near the beginning of the game, it'll effect the game much later. I don't mean something as basic as killing a bg or ls or something. I mean something small like busting down a door in the 1st level that leads to a small basement area that has a green acid in a barrel. It doesn't seem like it matters at all, but since you knocked that door down, a splicer investigates, gets the acid on them, interacts with their dna and creates a mini-boss 2 levels later. Little things like that compiled could add to a different experience all throughout. Think about it. Just the order that you explore or areas that you do/don't explore would make it a different game. Oh, and the other endings would make sense too.
I;ll keep mine simple tons of hidden stuff in ash trays and other "hollow" decor, location damage would be great to helps conserve ammo.
Yeah I really like the branch off idea TerosX had. It would be nice to see a overall effect on your decisions which I assume you will get already in the game in some ways. My #1 wish though is the game just comes out earlier.
Done. Someone who understood the internals of the game very well (or was using a FAQ written by such a person) might be able to do the branch, say, an hour from the end. But for most players, the irrevocable branch will come much, much earlier.

I think all my wishes are granted already.
The flying chair really adds to that set of screenshots.![]()
I wish that - like in SS1 - you come to a point*) in the game where you think that this will be the end BUT THEN realize that the game gets really started.
*) in SS1 that point to me was when you had the Citadel's reactor self-destruction sequence started and finally reached the rescue pod... and THERE had to figue that you can't leave Citadel that way... aaarg... so you had to go back down to the reacor level, stop the self-destruction sequence and work yourself through 7 more levels. THE best game experience I ever had!![]()
what's left to wish for?
i wish that my preorder ships in a timely manner.
<3 bioshock
I wish they would be kind and give us a demo. And I hope the anti-gamers will use their brains for once and not go off half cocked when Bioshock hits the shelves.

Negotiate with a Big Daddy ?![]()
ooooh my wish!
Legend has it he walks among us even now
A dreamer alone in a world between dreams and reality
Was he always a fighter, was he always a hero
What do we make of the young Chuck Norris..
yeah if he was only the main character.. o well time to mod up bioshock character skins!!!111oneoneone
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEE!
My wish is that Bioshock was running in my 360 right now!!!!
My wish is that the pc requirements arent insane.
A wish? An option to turn blinking/shining of some objects off.
me im a hoarder and i like to be able to baricade and defend. I get so pissed at games that are strategy where you can't build walls. if anyone remembers age of mythology like 5 years ago on some levels i built 9 layers of walls (u don't have to make any walls to beat the game but they help) if bioshock is going to be a revolutionary fps a safe haven that you could upgrade with turrets and mines u find would be much appreciated.
it would be perfect if you could take of body parts from fallen bodies during the game. Body parts would be great weapon for some time when you dont have ammo.
Thats what the wrench is for.
I would say that the best thing for me would be a very deep and some what confusing story line which would make me want to play again to understand I love doing that with movie with hundereds of plot twists etc.
I think it'd be very cool if you could use everything in the game. for instance, theres a video where a big daddy is being fought with big windows all on the right side of the room and a man from a balcony on the top left shoots grenades down... well at one part the big daddy is under a chandelier, it'd be cool if you could shoot it down on him
i wish there were levels were you would get too be a big daddy
I'd like an ending that's a non-ending. Instead of blowing up or leaving Rapture, just take up residence there. Maybe keep playing in a wandering GTA fashion? Until you're bored and start over to see the other paths.
It makes sense to me. How would a person go back to the outside world after splicing themselves into a monster to survive?
Because Rapture will eventually totally break down, and the sea will literally take it over.
Yes but there can always be a sub city or even another city like it hidden else where in the world.
I was toying with the ieda of 60/70s retro world...then stopped LOL
the 40/50s are such a sweet spot to toy with you cant really go wrong with it :X
forgot one,one could set bioshock 2 within a experimental underground city filled with the best technology of today and futuristic tech you could be the "son" of the player or some random guy the city was built to house and test stuff and now is in chaos the governments of the world want it shut down and the factions within it dislike each other and outsiders your stuck in the chaos begin nudged by unseen forces to take certain paths. in feel tis like HL crossed with SS2 with bioshocks tech and tremenongly with "todays" spin on it.
really anything is possible.
