Considering the above quote makes absolutely no sense to me, I think you might be right.

(but in my defense it's difficult trying to date a total stranger thousands of miles away when you're phobic of people, have very little going for you, and almost zero social skills).

If it wasn't for my emotional intelligence I'd probably have a collection of heads in my freezer.

You two talked about her quite flatteringly, but she just wanted to talk about Pokemon. I come in and mention that kinda aloof, and she responds to me about it, twice.

I'm going out to pick up some chicks *pulls up belt*

Yeah but, it's not as if I'm actually going to be dating her.

Raveness, I'm not really trying to 'bag' 2KBeth, really.

Sure it'd be cool to play little big planet with her and swap creatures and play startopia, but she's busy, and has other fish to fry (plus she's already got one guy she talks to on a forum, she doesn't need another).

I would definitely think about leveling your machoke via a trade -- that's what I did -- and ditch your kricketune for something fire. I really needed fire. Add a ghost attack to someone, also, and you might be good.

    i'm sorry what?

im a little edgy at the moment, still on my Ls, so when i was driving the car home (dad in passenger seat), i came out of a parking lot and onto the road, immediately switched lanes (so i could leave about 100m down the road) and my dad starts yelling at me and a car behind us is tooting its horn. the thing is, i looked down the road whencoming out of the lot to make sure that i would be able to change lanes, and lo and behold, the car behind me must have been speeding. so im a little jumpy now, but i have learned to always check the other lane even if i think its safe...

Don't worry about it— we're talking at cross purposes (it's probably me that misread some of the above).

I've only had a couple of driving lessons but it totally freaked me out (I almost caused a small prang). I think it happens to everybody when they start out. I guess it's all part of the learning process: Unconscious incompetence, conscious incompetence, conscious competence, unconscious competence.

just watched the episode of 24 where the chinese invade CTU. very distressing because the squad leader asked for the director of CTU to stand up, and milo (protecting the real acting director, nadia) stands up and says "it's me. milo (lastname), acting director of CTU."

    "come here."

*milo walks towards the chinese guy*

*chinese guy swiftly pulls up handgun and shoots milo in the head*

this really ticked me off and made me unhappy. i was hoping that something would develop between milo and nadia.

that number holds no power over me. it is the number of the beast, but why should the beast scare me when Jesus is my saviour?

Jesus sure likes to refer to hell as the place "where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth". i find his choice of words humorous and serious at the same time.

I think as a metaphor, hell is a place of regret and frustration, of grief and of deep unhappiness.

At least that's what those words seem to symbolise to me.

well, i would definitely not like to go to hell (and i won't), but it especially distresses me when i hear about people dying on the news and such.

take for instance one sunday we were heading up the hill on our way to church when a porshe speeds past. the driver was testing it out and a demonstrator was in the passenger seat.
the person driving the car we were in goes "woaw! that's a nice porshe they got themselves there!"

a week later this friend who made the comment comes over again and says "did you see what was on the news last sunday? those people in the porshe that we saw? they crashed later that afternoon and didn't survive. the car was pretty mangled too"

    these things distress me greatly.

I know what you mean— I've stopped watching the news. I find it far too distressing. There are some things being reported in the british media at the moment that I just can't watch without basically just wanting to cry. It upsets me how people can be so inured to it also. As though none of what's being reported is really real, when it's absolutely real (but having said that I learned of two friends of mine dying via news broadcasts, so I guess it tends to bring home the reality of it).

    Is that not an oxymoron?

Actually, that's probably not a debate I want to spark, and definitely not an argument I'd want to have.

You're assuming the version you're reading hasn't undergone revision:

The Bible is constantly revised and alterd,if there ever was any truth in it,it was vanquished many moons ago! What amazes me more is how so many of the obvious metaphors are taken literally when they hold no scientific weight at all.taking it a face value or should that be faith value, simply isnt good enough.

    Or strangely fitting:

    'Satan oscillate my metallic sonatas'

Actually the less said the better I think (otherwise this is just going to turn into the obligatory 'do you believe in God' thread (a landmark thread for our little community but one that I'd rather not get involved in anyway)).

I've got the ALT— Analytical-literal Translation of the New Testament. It's an interesting read.

I can't say I believe in a 'literal' translation however (e.g. the logistics of getting two of every creature in the entire world on to a boat etc.)

The Number of the Beast is sixhundred threescore six in the canonical texts, but these texts are derived from a few different ancient hebrew sources, and in some of the older fragmented papyri the number is given as 616.

I used to study some pretty crazy literature. These sorts of random facts prove useful when doing so.

me personally, I'm an atheist and think we should all NOT talk anymore about religion on these forums because it always seems to end bad.

Here is something i found interesting on the net though about the possible history of the bible

discussing religion is far different from discussing incarnations of the bible.
