    About Bill Parson's Dad[Possible Spoilers]

Before anyone responds to this...you will have to have found Billy Parson's father's corpse in Persephone and have listened to Gloria Parson's audio diary on the Cult of Rapture site.

Now then....was anyone surprised to find Billy Parson's father's corpse in Persephone?? And did anyone think he should have been another Big Daddy,or would that be too Mark Melzter-ish?? Because Gloria Parson seemed like she thought he left her and their son and didn't know what happened to him...so I always thought we'd find him as a Big Daddy or something....what does anyone else think...??

i expected it, Gloria implies as much when she talks about him gathering resistance and then dissapearing along with all evidence he existed. It's sad that he died that way though. i feel for poor little billy. i wonder what happened to him and his mum...

I don't think it would have been a wise move to make him a Big Daddy. Think about it, Mark Meltzer was transformed into a Rumbler and Sinclair was turned into an Alpha Series. It would have been a dodgey move to make Bill's dad an Alpha also, then again, he may have commited suicide (Which he most probably did) just as he was going to be transformed.

My theory on Billy and Gloria is that they drowned in the Dionysus Park flooding. I'm not sure why, but that's just the feeling I got.

I love the details this game puts into these minorish characters and the small details to the levels, like the drawings of the "upside down house" or the sign out the front of Ryan Amusements (Children under 2 half-price).

Oh, and Billy's dad's first name was Harold.

Billy Parson is very much alive! Now we know that Billy Parson had a crush on a Little Sister, yes? Well while your are playing as a little sister you walk past a gaol - yes, that is how "jail" is spelt - cell and a splicer grabs at you, why does he grab at you? Simple he has a crush on you! Who else had a crush on a Little Sister? Billy Parson, so by the process of elimination that splicer is Billy Parson!

My thoughts are that Billy wasn't staring at the Big Daddy, but the Little Sister. I just listened to Gloria's audio diary again and she said that they just left Dionysus Park and that Billy was staring at the Big Daddy, but wouldnt tell his mom what he was staring at.

He was probably staring at the Little Sister, but was too embarassed to tell his mom. We all know he had a crush on one

As for his father, yeah his was a fitting end. Taking his life into his own hands to end it before he went further insane after knowing all hope was lost. ...He wouldve just ended up at the bottom of the trench anyway :/

Not really. Remember that BigDaddyfication as a punishment is rather rare. Lamb does do it a cople times, but as far as we know Ryan only did it with Delta. Ryan was more of a firing squad kind of guy. You know, the old-fashioned way. The man was a romantic =P

Remember that in the first game he even has that morbid hall of fame where he nails notorious "traitors", including poor clueless McClintock and even the good ole McDonagh D=

cuz he said he left the rose in behind that door. so maybe to retry his efforts he went to the same area he left the rose in. I dunno just a theory

McClintock was killed by Atlas/Fontaine. I think you mean Anya, who was going to assasinate Ryan because her daughter was kidnapped and turned into a Little Sister.

I still hold firm to the belief of non-spliced civvies living somewhere in Rapture, in hiding. A big part of me hopes (or wants to believe) Billy is amongst them. The John Connor of the Rapture Resistance.

I've always thought there must be some non-spliced resistance somewhere. if you can block off a building, you could survive indefinatly since there's plenty of fish around and you can purify sea water.

either that, or some some splicers who have regained their sanity, since we've seen that Splicers gain some kind of unity and sanity under Lambs guidance. And then the sane splicers set up a resistance

ooooorrr.. there's unspliced and 'sane' splicers within the resistance, would make for some funny convos plus i want to be the self-sacrificing person who risks the danger of splicing to save everyone, maybe Billy in 10-20 years time.

Right and right. I messed up the names. Diane was Ryan's girl, I was meaning the shoe designer one, the one who had to find out what a Harmonic Core #3 was =P

I agree with this. The fact that there are still unspliced people in Bioshock 2, ten years after the fall kinda helps to confirm this, for me at least. I know that Grace and Stanley were members of the Family, and Sofia ran it, so obviously no one was going to be hurting them, but given that at least they are still around so long after gives a bit of hope.

I think itd be pretty amazing to find one of these parts of Rapture with a sane population, everything in near pristine condition like back in 57 before things went downhill.

I dunno, it seems like the topic has been pretty much discussed already

Things always get off topic, thus is the nature of an internet forum. (Parasites... XD )

Aren't we all expecting some single player DLC with that very story to come out soon? Because I thought it was sort of an unspoken universal consensus by now.

And we'll be guided by Tenenbaum, by the way.

For those enthralled with the idea of non-spliced survivors in Rapture, you very nearly got your wish...

Check this out:"Originally, and this was very heavily affected by story, we were going to have survivors in Rapture that had hidden out in these camps and needed a way to talk to one another and trade goods back and forth. We came up with the idea of using the Pneumo system. It was a mail system, but very simplistic-old pneumatic airtube devices. So I came up with the idea that they would build these glass boxes, like fish tanks, sealed off, and inside they would take junk from Rapture, old TV's and things like that and link them together and make these cobbled together devices that they could stick into Pneumo tubes." -Jim Ingram, UI Artist, 2K Marin - From "Deco Devolution" p.143

    and...
The Pneumo Tube idea actually ended up being scrapped because we no longer had the survivor idea in Rapture..." - Jim Ingram, UI Artist, 2K Marin - From "Deco Devolution" p.144

I don't want to post the pics that accompany the above quotes because I'm pretty sure it would be copyright infringement or something, but if you have the book, check out page 143 and 144... along with the above mentioned glass boxes, there are some really cool early development pics of what the UI was going to look like when you interfaced with vending machines, etc.
