Harold Goldenmayer - Job to do

Harold Goldenmayer: Sinclair Solutions and Ryan Industries keep eye on me and they are not pleased. In contrast to others, who are in Sinclair Solutions program, practically I do nothing. Don't try to have ADAM, ain't playin' with plasmids and tonics. I don't want to kill innocent people, but it seems I'll have to choose: my apartment or innocent citizens. Lisa Elev told me that in Pauper's Drop are a lot of rebels, supporting Atlas. We have to shoot 'em up - that's our job to do. If I only could make something different instead, but I can't... I MUST kill them or Sinclair and Ryan will kick me out and my new home will be street... Street full of blood, corpses and fights.

Entry 1: July 5, 1950
Rapture is everything that I could have hoped for and more. Mister Ryan has given me a second chance, and I am not going to waste this opportunity.

Entry 2: December 11, 1951
Tonight is the fourth anniversary since... the hearing. Since they threw me out of the University. They sat there and passed judgment on me, saying my research was unethical, that I was hurting people. Those people were volunteers -- they were sick, and no one else could help them. I was going to find a cure... Here in Rapture, a man is valued for his ability. Here I can make a difference.

Entry 3: August 23, 1954
Well, it's done. ADAM has become the solution, the cure to every disease. My research is obsolete, and in Rapture if you can't sell it to someone then it isn't worth doing. My lab has been dying for months, and today I closed the doors for good. From here on out, I am going to work under Tenenbaum over at Fontaine Futuristics. It is has been hard to accept, but it isn't all bad. I'll be working on the cutting edge of the biggest thing in Rapture, and after all... I could be cleaning fish guts...

Entry 4: March 17, 1956
I can barely believe what happened in lab today. Suchong and Tenenbaum came in with Jasmine Jolene... From Eve's Garden! They all went into an exam room for a couple of hours, and then Suchong and Jolene left. Tenenbaum wouldn't tell me what it was all about, but Suchong means plasmids. The only question is, are they putting something in, or taking something out? *laughs* Do they think they've discovered the gene for fan dancing?

Diary 1 (I will remember)
Lucy Fitzgerald: Dear diary, today is my 17th birthday. Last night I had a dream. It was about the man who my father met when he came to rapture, his name was Dmitri petrovich. I heard stories, when I was about 6 years old, about the good times they had together. They were like brothers. Mr. Petrovich used to babysit me alot when I was young, because my father always worked the day-shift. But one day... He disapeared. When Mr petrovich went out to look for him, he never came back either. But then... These strangers, they broke into our appartment and kidnapped me. *other girl* Lucy! You ready or not?* Yea I'll be right there! *click*

Diary 2 (big sister):
Lucy: Today I met one of the older sisters. She wears a diving suit just like the big daddies. April told me that she steals girls from the surface... brings them back to rapture. Some say she's bad news but they don't know what it's like. Becoming a sister changed my life. Every time that ADAM hits your bloodstream... you just feel great! And the advantages are worth it alone, I don't even look like I've ever spliced! And my skin? Hard as steel. *click*

Diary 3 (initiation)
Lucy: I'm so exited! Yesterday one of the older sisters said I had potential. She said I had what it takes to become a big sister. Tommorow i will go through the process along with others who are ready. I think April has been accepted too. But I heard that the process is ireversable, once it's done... it's done. But I know what Mr. Petrovich would have had me done... It is my responsibility to watch over... No, to protect these new little sisters from any harm they may be caused. Yes, the big daddies are strong but the sisters have the advantage of ADAM. *click*

Diary 4 (Relentless)
Lucy: *sigh* I saw a big daddy die today. I tried to help, but it was just too late. By the time I had got there, those god damn splicers had nearly torn him limb from limb. Those splicers are starting to change, I seen one jump onto the ceiling and climb around. Bunch of lunatics. I charged in and slaughtered them all. The one with the sister... I gutted the bastard and hung him from the chandelere. I can feel myself becoming more and more powerfull after each fight. I managed to salvage an electrobolt plasmid from a broken garden, the others will be so jeleous. *click*

Diary 5 (cold steel)
Lucy: While looking for salvageable parts today, I found a wounded bouncer kneeling next to a sunken bathysphere. He had cut his leg severly on a sharp peice of scrap... atleast that's what it looked like. I tried to help the big fella but he refused. When i tried to bandage his leg he would push me away. So all I could do was watch as he lie down and bleed out. While he was unconcious, I managed to patch him up though. I gave him a boost of ADAM to get him kicking again. But when he stood up, the bastard just walked past me. Not even a sign of gratitude, let alone acknowledgment of me even existing. *click*

Diary 6 (home coming)
Lucy: As I stand here in my old appartment, the very appartment where I was kidnapped, I can remember. This chair... I can't beleive it's still here. Every day when my dad came home from work, he would sit in this chair. I would climb up on his lap and he would make up the most wonderful stories. Every day... untill he disapeared. And Mr. Petrovich, such a kind man. He was like a second father to me. I've heard things about my mother, but she had died long before my father traveled to rapture. I wish I could speak to them. But now... They are just dust and memories. *click*

Diary 7 (Betrayed sisters)
Lucy: Diary... I can still trust you, can't I? April... she went mad. I'm not sure what triggered it, but she went feckin mad. We were recovering a little sister from a fallen Rosie when she started getting violent. She could have killed the sister... I tried to stop her but she ran away. The girl is with me now... She's fine. Oh April, you know what happens when you harm a little sister. I only hope I find her before the others do. *click*

Diary 8 [Down Fall]
Lucy: They killed her. They had to, there was no reasoning... I tried talking to her but she struck me down. Thankfuly the others were watching over me or I fear April would have killed me. *sigh* I'm tired of it, I'm tired of watching everyone I love slaughtered in front of my own feckin eyes. First my father, then Mr. Petrovich... And now April. *glass shatters* Im sick of it! *furniture snaps* I can't take it anymore! *window breaks, sound of ocean rushing in*

Very good recognition, certainly something I thought was ironic on my first trip to Rapture ^_^ And I of course love hearing a bit more from Meltzer and that sounds like an anime that would fit in right along with these forums!

Very successful at portraying a victim of Rapture, again. I love hearing more of these two guys' stories ^_^ This seems like the more realistic story of a tragic Sinclair tester... what a terrible situation to be in. Well written and placed.

First post here, and what a terrific post it is! I already interested in this character! Sounds like the tragic truth of an old school scientist, caught between the laws of the surface and the quick-and-easy style of Rapture. I also LOVE the placement of the Jasmine Jolene event very funny, as well as believable. Hope to hear more from him!

Great take on the Fontaine/Atlas persona. Sounds just like something a con-man would have developed! And I still hear my own voice of the Iron Sheik in my head, heheheh.

Wow! When you deliver, you deliver! I was waiting for the story to continue, but Lucy as an elder sister? ^_^ I'm glad you took the jump. It sounds just as enthusiastic as a Sister taking the process would sound. And I love the allusion to Dmitri's diary on the last diary. I can't wait to hear this story continue, and to hear from Lucy as a Big Sis'!

Harold Goldenmayer: I've failed. Failed myself, because I did really bad thing. I just don't recognize myself. Today I've been to Pauper's Drop with other citizens from Sinclair Solutions program. Our job to do was defeat rebels, people fighting with Ryan Industries. We lit them on the fire by Incinerate! torturing, shooting up. After that I understood everything. For all the time we were fighting for fat idiot who was sitting behind the desk all the time, thinking which lady from Eve's Garden he will play with and when. Damn jerk! I've failed, given up. ADAM controls me. All 'spheres are blocked, there's no way out. That city is already dead. I would like to kill that lady Tenenbaum, because she has started that hell, but I'm to weak. To weak to fight. It's end. My own failure. *pistol shoots and something heavy falls on the ground*

Entry #1 - Same old, same old

*click* Robert Walker: Hello?... Is this thing on?.... Hello there, this is Robert K. Walker. Well, this is ma' first shot at this audio diary things my co-workers gave me since getting hired to work here at Big Daddy Depot, it's somewhere around Hephaestus. I got hired as a "wrenchman", wasn't expectin' much, but its safe to say its just a fancy name for repairman. Everyday, in n' out, Big Daddies come for a check up, a few tightening of bolts here and there, then they walk on by. Occasionally, we would see some of them carry around a little girl on their backs, we were cautioned not to mess with them, but they ain't that bad, they're pretty cute if you think about it. The only thing thats bad about this job are the fights,... no, not the normal arm wrestling fights..., Big Daddy fights, it usually starts with one Big Daddy thinking the other Big Daddy's little girl is his..... They just won't stop until you sedate both of them with as much sedatives to knock-out one of 'em rhinoceroses, each. Other than that its same old, same old. *click*


Entry #2 - Fights

*click* Robert Walker: Hey, it's me again. Well, today we just witnessed another one of 'em Big Daddy fights. But..... today it was different, one of the two was one of those "Production Line" Big Daddies. It went on as usual at first, the usual pushing, then tradin' punches and headbutts, the always entertaining wraslin'(wrestling), but there wasn't any plasmid throwin' from the Production Line Big Daddy. I swear, the Production Line Big Daddy seemed like he was gettin' his ass handed to 'im, but suddenly he groaned so loud you'd swear the whole place was shakin'. Then suddenly after that, Big Daddy shot out aimin' towards the one shootin' the fireballs. With his drill spinnin' at top speed, pierced the other Big Daddy's suit as if it was cardboard. It was the most horrible thing I've witnessed since that day. Oh that Big Daddy just groaned there, as his insides were pourin' out! We all just stood there, stunned at what we just saw, and watched as his porthole dimmed out. I swear that part of the Depot still doesn't smell or even feel right. *whistle blow* Oh I guess lunch's over. *click*


Entry #3 - Unexpected greeting

*click* Robert Walker: Hey there! Today, something ter'bly unexpected happened. As I was gettin' ready for work, un-greasin' and rearrangin' tools left scattered yest'rday, the first Big Daddy of the day had entered, he was the one I usually check-up and repair on my shifts. It was easy to know who he was 'coz he's the only one that prefers to use the Winter Blast plasmid with the shotgun among the senior Alpha Series. With him today was his Little Sister, and as they were enterin', his little sister pointed to me and said "Look Daddy! It's mister fixer~!". The Big Daddy turned to his little sis' n' then to me, an' started walking towards my d'rection, I thought "Don't move, they'll only see you when you move.... I think.". When he reached my station, I was all out of breath and stunned completely. The little sis' then got off his back, couraged him to sit on the platform, then she went to my side and started tuggin' down my coat sayin' "Mister, mister. Please help daddy, he stubbed his toe on something. He's not walking right.". Summin' up all o' my courage, I shakin'ly approached the Big Daddy, I looked at his foot and said to myself, while scratchin' the hair under my cap, "Stubbed his toe? What's this girl seein', that ain't no stubbed no from where I came from. This guys leg looks like it met the wrong end of a grinder, I'm surprised he could still walk all the way here.". So I then started workin' on the guy's leg, and as luck would have it, the technology down here will do short work for this guy's injuries. After 5 to 10 minutes or so, I'm done and he can stand. The worried little girl then asks me, "Is Daddy okay now? He can play now right?" and I say, "All I know is, that he can walk and continue his Big Daddy career, and after that, I've sweat'd more than a pig in the middle of July."



Entry #4 - Riot

*click* Robert Walker: *pant *pant* ****! I never thought this would happen, dang splicers ev'ry where! *gunshots whistling over-head* Today was hopefully just another peaceful day at work. As ev'ry one was doing their work, an explosion was heard nearby, then all of a sudden splicers came pouring in out of nowhere! They all ran towards the Big Daddies with little sisters, they all gang'd-up on them as if they planned it. Some Big Daddies were caught off-guard, still heavily injured requiring some repair, the other though were fighting back, guns in hand and shooting bolts of fire and lightning, it was a vicious riot! Right now, as I talk to this thing, some of the Big Daddies that are fightin' back, are gettin' their ass handed to 'em. Splicer: There's another one right there!! Robert Walker: ****! *drops audio diary on the floor* Gotta get outta here! *Bonk* Robert Walker: Oow, dang, what's a... thing.. like. this doin' here? *looks up and sees a Big Daddy* Robert Walker: Holy Mother o' Mercy!! *rolls out of the way* Little Sister: Look Daddy, it's mister fixer, and he led us to some angels! Big Daddy: *GRrrooaANN* *Winter Blast shooting out* *shotgun shot* *sound of ice breaking* Splicer: Aaarghaa!! *click*


Entry #5 - Got away

*click* Robert Walker: *pant* I got out!... Thanks to that Big Daddy. *pant* Ughh... barely atleast. One of 'em dang splicers got me with his gun.... *distant heavy footsteps* ****! Little Sister: Mister fixer? Hello? Big Daddy: *grooaaannn* Little Sister: I think he went this way Daddy! Big Daddy: *grooann* Robert Walker: Dang nab'it! They keep on findin' me ev'rywhere I go! Ugh... gotta find something to patch this up.... *riiippp* There... that's gotta be better than nothin' *heavy footsteps* Little Sister: Hello there mister! We aren't playin' hide an' seek! Big Daddy: *grrooaaannn* Robert Walker: Hey!... *audio diary drops* Whattayadoin'? Put me down! Little Sister: Don't worry, Daddy only wants to give you something. Right Daddy? *distant* Robert Walker: Put me down!! I can walk on my own~!! Little Sister: But mister, you'd just run and hide again, Daddy is too tired to play hide and seek. *click*


Entry #6 - I shouldn't....

*click* Robert Walker: *gasping* I-It.. H-He g-gots' be cramped here in this'ere room! *gasp* I.... I don't know why he's keepin' me alive... B-but what-ever he, it, is plannin' by keepin' me alive... It's not happening! *heavy breathing* It's either me or him! An' I'm makin' sure it's gonna be me!..... *sighs* I know I shouldn't, but.... I have to, it's for my sakes. I *clears throat* I remember seein'... somethin' that looks like a gath'rers garden on the way here.... *heavy breathing* And if all goes well... *clears throat* What the hell? What am I sayin', I grew up in the worst side of town, I was beatin' people half to death when some were still school! This'll be a cake walk! *sighs* Yeah... a cake walk *sigh* I'll try and see if I can snatch a suit way back at the depot.... It's bound offer some protection along the way.... *click*

*click* Robert Walker: *heavy breathing* I.... I killed something... *sighs* I remember just getting to the gath'rers garden and.... I bashed it several times and got sev'ral bottles and a needle... All of a sudden my skin was as hard as a shell, my legs felt like I could run a marathon and jump a 5 story-buildin', I started swinging faster and harder, and strangely enough... I couldn't hear my footsteps.... *heavy breathing* I-I thought to myself, Nothin's gonna stop me now!.... *gasps* But.. I-I heard a s-... a scream, when I went to see what it was..... Oh my god... *sobs* T-the two of 'em were on.... his... his visor was smash'd open an'... I went to see what happen'd to the girl... all I saw was.... Good Lord.... *sobs* she... she was... she was torn apart.... Just the image of this.... I can't get it out of my head!! ARRrghh!! *bashes diary* I'm gonna find who did this an'... *buzz* I'll... *buzz* that'd make him say.... *buzz* "What just happened?" *click*

Harold Goldenmayer: So good to have friends workin' in Fontaine Futuristics - people working on Protector Program. Metal monsters go through city with Frankenstein's daughters. Sometimes they fix leaks in Rapture. Daniel told me about source of "volunteers" who go to by Big Daddy with pleasure how says Andrew Ryan. They are from prison hidden near to Fontaine Futuristics. Taken without a word, tortured and checked out if everything will be fine. That's how Alpha Series was created - line of mad Daddies. Too much plasmids and tonics and their sisters' deaths... It was too much for them, making them mad. They are hold in secret place about knows only few persons. I'm scared of Andrew's reaction. If he knows that somebody has told me about Protectors Program, me and that spy will be dead. Maybe he already knows? Daniel disappeared. For one week he hasn't been in his home, work. I hope Sullivan didn't bring him to that prison...

I had a small Idea in mind that crosses everyday random Rapturians with each other...

I was thinking that Officer Breen and his Patrol Team Come face to face's and almost gets overrun by Lucy's power but.....(Your choice why she stops)

( I would love to use Lucy as Breen's first face to face encounter with a big sis)

Mabey one of your officers are related to Thomas Fitzgerald (Lucy's father) or mabey they were work buddys. I never did specify where Tom and dmitri worked, just that Tom worked they day-shift. Bit if you want Lucy to be cannon in your story I do advise you read my first set.

I was thinking about Something like that Thomas could have been an officer and good friend (Breen never got over the fact that he's gone, and shocked even more that is daughter is missing) and Dmitri could be one of the people breen sold out for power...

So whalecow what do you think about my idea above...
(On a side note don't worry i've read almost every Story )

Entry 5: September 14, 1958
I feel... numb. Suchong told the lab today that we are all working for him now, and Andrew Ryan. Nobody knows where Tenenbaum went, and... Frank Fontaine is dead now... So I guess Suchong is right. The way Fontaine died, the army of splicers... I keep thinking, is this what I came here for? Is this what we've been working toward? Sometimes, I... Well. *dark laughter* On the bright side, our work has never been more important.

Entry 6: July 5, 1960
Final Entry. Rapture was everything I hoped it would be, and so much more. I thought that without restrictions, my research could make the world a better place... I'd never have believed that it would become a living Hell. Have I been wrong all along? Or were we just not good enough to make it work? The only comfort I have is that no one will even remember me. Tenenbaum, Suchong, now Alexander... All the glory... All the blame. My dream has died... And its time for me to follow. If anyone finds this, just know that... I'm sorry...

Done some thinking, and I think I've come up with a few more audio diaries

These diaries are about a man named Harold Dickinson, who is a guard for the little sister orphanage in Siren Alley. Besides keeping order, he also makes sure no nosy reporters or sneaks try and dig up the Siren Alley Orphanage's dirty little secret; They've been kidnapping girls to be little sisters. Since LS's have been disappearing, and there is still wait on the new Big Daddy model (Rumbler), they need more sisters then they have.

Harold had a 9 year old daughter named Jammie Dickinson. Her best friend was Amy Clementine (8 years old), who became one of the victims of the kidnappings. Harold sees that Jammie is wondering where Amy had gone, and tries to clam her as much as he can. Jammie tells harold she thinks Jammie was taken to the LS orphanage, but Harold reassures her that shes wrong. Jammie decides to take matters into her own hands, and breaks into the orphanage to find Amy, but ends up kept their herself.

When Jammie ends up being turned into a LS, he decides to break the girls in the orphanage out...
