well, i plan to do lots of pullups on the top bar of the swing set at the park.
i can do two consecutive pullups (palms facing away) and 3 with palms facing me. *cough* sucky*cough* im also gunna do lotsa jogging with my dog, and condition my jumping.

no i don't do it... but i can imagine it's very demanding... but of course it depends on what you want to do exactly.

Thanks to Wikipedia I know what you're talking about.

I'd never heard of parkour before. Sounds really interesting. I'll pop it on my list of "Things I'd love to do but probably never will" ... right under Aikido. There we go.

it will take a few months of working out before i can do the moderate difficulty stuff. basically, i need to be able to safely land from heights, and i need to be able to jump up, grab the top of a wall, and pull myself over.

Maybe Parkour is part of Mi6 training these days. He did a better job using the tools of the environment to move forward, differing from his adversary who was better at moving his body through the environment. Definitely one of the best foot chases in movie history, all thanks to Sebastian Foucan

well, ive given up on rolling for the moment, because of carpet burns. but im getting pretty good at rail jumping (one and two handed), and jumping no hands over lowish fences. yesterday i banged my shins on the edge of a brick bbq at the park, and i had massive painful lumps on my shins. but parkouring is very fun

Forgot to mention, Assassin's Creed plans to give the player character a lot of parkour abilities as demonstrated from around 2:15 in this gameplay demo:

    Can't wait.

I think it's illogical to equate parkour with agility and adepthness at environmental maneuverability...

[Woah... Just had some déjà vu...]

Anyways, Le Parkour needs to include an element of efficiently getting from point A to B, preferably in the context of fleeing or pursuing. Furthermore, a lot of emphasis is paid to personal safety so there's really not as much rooftop or crane running as the videos suggest. Complex acrobatics and fighting are not part of it at all.

but, the skills you learn in Parkour can certainly help you fight. i agree that everybody seems to think parkour is about spekky jumps and lots of far-above-ground stuff, but it seriously isnt. hardly any parkour is practiced high up there. its all around ground and first floor level.

Have a friend who does it but shamefully not anymore since he has broken a leg (falling down a pair of stairs near a park)
