They should of added those!
It must be really old concept art for it to not have been in Breaking The Mold. It looks a lot like a Dead Space monster.
Yeah that doesn't really look like Bioshock concept art to me... pretty cool though.
question is:is that for real? Like,is that picture something official...or did someone JUST recently make that up??
Yes, the original post was on Irrational's "from the vault" for this month.
Its interesting, most of their "from the vault's" are about Bioshock... foreshadowing?
Creepy...good thing it wasn't in the game tho cause it would be a bit random when compared with the rest.
I hear that quite a few bioshock games are planed (not sure if that will good or bad :/ )
Perhaps they are going to make the splicer’s gradually less and less human as time goes by...
1st game wasn't that long after the civil war started so they all looked pretty human, 2nd game they have been abusing Adam for over 10 years so they are naturally more monstrous. The spiders and the brutes were still recognizable as human but where very obviously mutated as well as more deformities on the other splicer’s (like the flesh high heels)
3rd game? who knows

I think some of those woulda taken away from the feeling of possibility. I mean yes, the story is way out there, but giant grubs or insect people are just TOO sci-fi for what I think rapture was about. Jelly Man makes sense as a side effect of ADAM or the weird yam hand... haha. I dont think personally the game would have pulled me in if they had gone as far as insect people. Then again, who knows? I'm sure this is why they were left aside.
I think they would have been out of place. The only slightly possible way to have them in the game is as boss fights.
the insect men just remind me of the bugs from resident evil 4 when you go into the sewers, the jelly man kind of reminds me of the t-1000 from terminator 2 sort of, he would have been cool coming out of like a puddle of water like if he could shapeshift.
That picture did NOT look Bioshock-y at all. Good that they didn't go with it.
I love that From the Vault Blog. Lot's of weird concepts.
I could see jellyman in Bioshock. Ha! Could you imagine setting him on fire?
it looks fallout 3ish
It looks like a human roach hybrid. Would've made Bioshock look like another "shoot the mutated humans that look like aliens/insects game."
If they do make an appearance in Bioshock 3, they better include some bug spray![]()
lol sort of looks like Gil
