well they have a lot in common, but the story isn't common, except promised "easter eggs" of M2.
I'd say that you should play MAFIA I completely couple of times, (I, myself played 26 times) then you understand that how good M2 will be as you see that M1 (from 2002) was that great, you see that its story and atmosphere can compete with any of 2009-2010 games![]()
unfortunately, no
i heard of it, but was never told if it was amazing so i just skipped it. the only mafia game i really played was the godfather. which was pretty cool but nothing too good. and while im talking bout it has anyone played any of the other godfathers? worth getting?
but back to mafia... i would buy it but at the moment im broke and have my hands all full with battlefield: bad company 2 (which i suggest getting)
well thanks for giving your input guys. i will try and pick up mafia I sometime soon

The console version are just shoddy ports. If you can try to play it on a PC. Because any PC will be able to play Mafia, and I mean ANY...
I haven't played it for PC, though I did for Xbox, probably samish as PS3, havent beaten it yet, controls are kinda bad, and its hard, or somthin, anyways i still really enjoy it and plan on beating it before Mafia II. I dont think its that bad atall, but sticking with PC is probably still best
I would play the PC version of MAFIA if you can get your hands on a copy, but the games are not going to be connected in any real way...and from what we seen, the game play is going to be very different (cover system, regenerating health ect) as well.
I'm also one of those gamers that haven't played mafia i wasn't into open world games at that time when the game hit the original xbox so i'm going to skip mafia 1 and just wait for the sequel.
Please play Mafia right now.
i would if i could but to tell you the truth i can't go back and play the game you see i'm a graphics ***** and i can't play any game that came out for the original xbox.![]()
I just recently bought Mafia I and beat it last night. It was great, a really moving story that is believable and dramatic. Not sure how many times I could play it though, it has a few slow points.
I've bought Mafia 3 times, as a result of lending the game to someone and either not getting it back or returned with damaged discs, probably v hard to find now, ebay is best bet.
would never part with it again![]()
Lol I play Crash Team Racing every once in a while, that's like PS1, I assure you there are like 4 pixels or something, it's awesome. You have to be able to watch past graphics and see the originality, the concept, the gameplay and all that's important in a game. I, for one, think games focus on graphics too much lately and frankly I couldn't care less about it. Whatever happened to games like pong where the devs couldn't even program a curved line, or a game like Crash Bash, Bugs Bunny (lol) and all those awesome old games. It's much better than all the copy-paste-work the devs do nowadays, they bring out 7 games upscale it a little but basically you buy the same game 7 times (yes that's right, you suck EA). Fortunately 2K isn't like that and still finishes their development
.
I feel the same way as you. I play regularly Mafia 1, Metal Gear Solid 1(PSX). Those are my favourites. Hard to say which one is better
Yeah, EA is bad for games, they own too much and they always releases games as half-finished in developing.
NHL10 looks always the same nowadays, GF series graphics are the same as in all EA's 2005's games. :S and so on. There's so much bugs always on EA's games. and they can't even fix those. not in NHL series though. Then, on all EA SPORTS games, there's always EA logo and only a few updates when moving to next game, e.g. NHL09 -> NHL10
you dont have to but you should great game![]()
