I've experienced the same "Cannot connect to download server. Please check your internet connection" problem that many people seem to be facing. I know that I'm online and not behind any firewalls, nor running through a router nor do I have an anti virus program up. This can only mean that the server that the download comes from is non operational. The fact that the support page wont load and the 1-800 number in the manual gives me nothing but painfully loud static, only serves to convince me of this. Here's the thing though, and I'm sure many have already come to this conclusion. I paid for the game. I paid for it and its sitting right in front of me. Yet, it may as well be a brick for all its worth right now. Half Life 2 had some difficulties getting up and running launch day, but they still fixed it so that one could play the game for a day or so until the activation server was back up. They did not rob me of my purchase. Nothing, has been done. And there are many people, just like me, sitting around and staring at their expensive paper weights in rage.

What I find the most distressing is that after combing the forums for going on two hours now, I haven't found a single post from an official addressing this problem. Nobody is saying anything about it.

So, what I'm saying is. All the two installs, securom issues aside. I don't care,I want what I paid for. I want to install the game and proceed to play it. Barring an immediate solution (Which would be ideal), please, somebody say something. Tell us whats going down and how its going to be fixed and when. Tell us anything, just tell us something!

I love you guys, you've made a magnificent game. But I want access to play it, I don't feel I should have been made to wait when 360 players could load it up from jump, and the longer I'm forced to the more upset I find myself becoming. And we all know I'm not the only one.

Biggest rule is you acknowledge that you sympathize with the user when you seriously **** up. I'm stunned beyond belief they are stone silent.

Hey man, I just got through to them and they told me it is because the patch servers are down. The guy I talked to said they should be up in 30 minutes to an hour. which was like 15 minutes ago.

Jesus people... this was a screw up but do you not think they spent years making this game with the intention that people could play it? Who knows what the problem is but they want it fixed as much as we do.
One reason they might not have posted yet, is because they're all busy trying to fix the game that everyone is complaining about in this very forum.

A child in the back seat asking, "are we there yet?" does not make the car go any faster.

Elizabeth and R.Tourist have already stated they've been scouring the forums while the dev. team is on vacation. They are going to get the job done.
