    good reason to pirate

I have never been interested in pirated materials, but bioshock as it is now seems to push me in that direction.

I reformat often, new hardware often and have 3 pc's that I would like to play this game from...

just seems like a big pain in the ass...now if i happen to no play for a couple of months, and forget about uninstalling my copy...thats it...i gotta shell out another 50-60 bucks for a new copy...thats asinine

just a shame, hope they fix that

May I ask why you would want to play this on 3 PC's? Isn't one good enough?

Geez, I wish I was that rich.

You could always buy it, and then if / when the reinstallation thing becomes an issue, download a cracked copy and play it guilt free.

have a pc at work, home, and since I live far away from work and my folks live near my work, i took an extra pc to their house for extra gaming.

hell, i'm still playing diablo 2, i just carry my usb stick around with my characters saved on it....no matter where i go i can still play..

not to mention a laptop that I have...what if i went on a road trip and wanted to bring bioshock along with me...guess not

    Fixed.

Seriously though, do you normally do that with single-player games? How do you work out the save files?

    Nevermind, that makes sense.
Wish we had an edit function still.

Either way, I can see how the 2-computer limitation can definitely be a pain in the ass in this case. Unfortunately, they've probably decided that your situation is rare enough that they shouldn't make policy around it.

Well yeah, 3 low to mid range based PC's, but even then I cant afford that. I am working 40h week shifts as a security guard at IBM, I do not make enough to pay rent + own 3 computers. :-/

I have over 8 PCs I build them...they ALL were under $900 except 1 and its my baby, spent at least $2000 on it..but anways.

Im just POed that they pulled this crap on the STEAM version of the game too...its R-E-T-A-R-D-E-D.

The main reason to have a steam account is to play any of my games on any computer anytime I want without having to deal with this...but we STILL have a restriction on how many times it can be activated, cant even use the backup my game feature of steam either on it...

That all depends on whether you like older games or not. It's not like PC gaming is a recent invention or anything. I occasionally play games over 10 years old, games they've still not really surpassed. A 7 year old Pentium III is overkill for that stuff and those machines are almost free these days.

Yah I have tons of old hardware and about 5 computers ready to run at any time lol. It's my hobby, after all. It's as much about the hardware as it is the games, for me.

Lol so thats why you have so many PC's. I have been building PC's myself for 6 or so years now, but I sell my old ones off. I usually sell them when they are actually worth something (like now, I am selling my XFX 7900gs xt Volt modded @ 1.5 and oc'd to 690/800 all on a Zalman CU 700 cooler for at least 100 CAD) so then I have extra money towards something better, like a 8800 or something.

Someone should make a crack that strips the protection but also silently DDoSes the DRM servers in the background. That way, if enough people used the cracked version then everyone would have to!

    disclaimer: only joking

That would ultimatly force them to strip the DRM if nobody could register. You cant have new customers who cant register for weeks at a time after all. Its a evil way of getting your point across but it would work.

maybe some higher-level education is in order for you, instead of bashing people with perfectly legittimate complaints.

Since I cannot edit, it seems you good sir, are the one for needing higher level education since you yourself cannot seem to read/understand a post, if you gotta insult me.

Yeah, the only flaw is that unlike the software publishing industry, the warez scene are tightly regulated by very strict moral codes - they actually respect their users.
Any crack that used your internet connection would be deleted with extreme prejudice, the guys who released it would be shunned forever by the scene.

It's a shame that "the bad guys" are the ones with the code of honour, while "the good guys" are spying, infecting and controlling you.

frankly, it's absolutely none of your, our or their (2k's) business why he wants to play his 100% legally acquired game on 3 PCs. Discussion over. Period.

PC games are really going down the drain, with the ease of use/getting console games I can really see PC games and the down slope. This is just flat out ridiculous and wrong. I paid for the F*CKING game and own it, let me play my goddamn game you as*hats.

Don't do this patching bull*hit ever again, when I buy a game (that has single player capability) I have the right to play out of the box, you guys are just a buch of selfish jerks, you guys really dissapoint me....

Guess I'm going to go play a real game, like System Shock II, which was made before all this nonsense.
