    or....... not?

i must be the only sane (or insane, whatever) person out there, i mean sure Transformers were great!... when i was 10 but then one day i grew up, i watched it and said to myself "this has got to be the worst possible show in the world, why am i watching badly drawn characters on tv?"

Ambiguous Titles FTL. Please don't do that.

They've changed it a lot from the cartoon; Optimus has flames, Bumblebee's a Camero- If I was going for the nostalgia value I think I'd disappointed. However, I'm going for giant robots smashing the snot out of one another. Should be good.

I don't know...I might have to agree with lurch on this one. I have a feeling its going to turn out really bad....your going to attract all the transformer fans that loved it when they grew up...and you'll get the normal ooh whats that it has cool graphics crowd...but i think its going to flop.

After seeing the mess that was spiderman and shrek I'm ready for big ro-bits to be beating the crap out of each other. Seriously, they didn't change that much from the cartoon and the new looks are fantastic. Expecting much from Bay is laughable (he can direct some action though) but I do want to see good CG action scenes with giant robots.

Optimus Prime is the man...er machine...and I know when his big rig pops up on screen my face will go all a smiles.

I dunno, I'm hooked on transformers for the nostalgia value, but Bay is the worst director in the history of directors, the only redeeming quality in the managment crew is that Stephen Spielburg is the executive producer, and perhaps with a little spielburgian influence bay will get away from his past of centering the story around the flattest and weakest characters while forgetting entirely about the aspects of a script that make it worthwhile.

I'm still not sure how Pearl Harbor turned into a love story.

Hey, Bay is a very good blockbuster movie director. I might still prefer the movies of Tony Scott to his, but Bay's visuals usually are worth the ticket.
Even if the rest of his films usually is pretty laughable.
I guess I'll enjoy Tranformers. It'll be a guilty pleasure, but...

    Double post,

After watching that latest trailer, I'm 90% convinced this movie is going to blow huge massive chunks. Won't be as bad as spiderman 3, but it's still going to be rank. Humans are supposed to play a very small role in the transformers saga, but this movie looks to be centered around them, and c'mon? what's with the kid crying while a -few- soldiers somehow manage to aparently take out bumblebee.

Oh well, I'll see it in IMax so the effects will make it worthwhile.

I agree, that AND the crappy love plot that seems to be in it

Michael Bay has already turned this into a monster movie with humans as the center of the plot. That equals failure to the canon of Transformers in my book. This reads and will probably play like a Godzilla movie w/ a 5 page script. Bay cannot go any deeper and more complex than "Good Guys here, Bad Guys there" - throw in millions of dollars of snazzy fx.

Sorry, but I'm guaranteeing that after seeing this the one and only picture worthy of being called a Transformers movie will still be this one: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092106/
