I am not that far in but I killed him after his masterpiece was finished. Did I kill him too early? Damn!
How will I find his residence now?
The music box only has cash and ammo, no tonics or plasmids, safe to skip if you want.

Yeah, I did that on my own out of spite for him setting his splicers on me while working for him. Didn't realize it would net me an achievement, I'd have done that for free!
