Triton Theater - Little Sister is Gone

So...I'm pretty mad. Its been nearly a month since a PUSHED BACK release of this game. I'm in Triton Theater and my little sister has disappeared. I went in guns blazing because the big daddy was already fighting splicers. He chased a houdini out to the rocket launcher and that's where I finished him off. I looked for the little sister I need to get out of Dionysus Park...and she's friggin' gone. Any clue where they usually glitch to or when a patch to fix this is landing on the ps3. And before you ask, NO OTHER BACKUP TO REVERT TO!

Try progressing to another little sister in a different save slot. If the pause menu screen is still showing a bigdaddy icon next to a little sister the chances are she should be with another big daddy.

Please give this a try let me know if there are still problems.

I have no other little sister to progress to. The icon does still show her with a big daddy but I'm pretty sure I've been all over the whole map looking. Ill make one more sweep tonight.

Stupid little sister! She's definitely gone. She isn't with any big daddy in the level. I can't find her in any wall or floor in Dionysus Park. The objective arrow leads me a waterfall in front of a little sister hole in one of the 1st rooms. The room I'm talking about announces "Dionysus Park" upon entry. Its the room where a houdini splicer is on top of a tall scaffolding structure in the middle of the room. Let me know if that isn't a good enough description. Ideas for resolution? Id like to beat the game before playing through again.

Please try the following to solve your issue:-

Could you please try to delete the games installation from your PS3, to do this:-

- Go to the XMB, this is the first screen you will see when you turn on the PS3 without a game inserted.
- Locating the Game section and then locating the Game Data Utility.
- Delete the game installation from this location (this will not effect your game saves).
- Connect your PS3 to the internet, sign in to the PS Network and re-install the game, when connected to the internet the PS3 will automatically update.

Nothing. Uninstalled it twice and watched it reinstall twice...no update. Checked System Update, nothing. Each time I reinstalled, I walked through the level and never found a little sister. The 1st time I even went back to the train and was told there was another little sister out there. Stupid arrow still leads me to the waterfall.

BTW: I'm off today...and awaiting a solution...or it's going back to Gamestop...good ole' 7 day return policy...

Well I guess that's it. Thanks for the attempted help. It's going back and I'll think about picking it up again if 2K ever gets their act together. It's sad that a company delays a game 3 more months (I had a pre-order for the original release date BTW) and still can't get it right. Creative team, TERIBBLE programmers. Bad Company 2, here I come!

I've just had a look at the game, everything seems as it shoul be, the only thing I can think of is to take a look on the map form the select button then press the triangle button for hints. This should show you the location of the Little sister.

Still didn't work. Says she's in Triton Cinema but she's nowhere to be found. She was harvesting the corpse in there on the ride aisle as you're facing the stage when I began the fight. Any idea on a patch date?

If you have not taken it back yet, would you be able to start a new save under a different user as a test to see if they appear on the map?

Strange things do happen between the little sisters and the big daddys. I was in the previous level in the corridors between the Synclair Deluxe and Paupers Drop...or whatever. And, I found a little sister by herself...no big daddy anywhere to be found...she ran (well...to be honest I chased her) all the way from the refrigerators near the Synclair Deluxe door to the refrigerators near the corridor exit to Paupers Drop...or whatever it's called and just cowered there. But, this was on the PC so I exited and saved and when I reloaded she was gone. I wasn't required to rescue or harvest on that level, so I don't know if I really did lose one or not, but I'm just saying that there does seem to be some way for a little sister to be around without a big daddy...and for her to disappear altogether.

But, I know the place that 4O'Glock is talking about...and it's a scripted fight where there's two big daddy's and some splicers. One of the big daddy's gets killed by the splicers and the little sister climbs onto the one that lives. Is it possible that 4O'Glock killed the big daddy that lived before the little sister climbed onto him or something like that? Then perhaps the little sister will just be running around with no big daddy like what I saw.

I agree with Tech Chris...load a previous save and get to that point again, but this time don't jump into the scripted scene until the little sister has climbed onto the big daddy that lives...there's less of a chance that you will encounter a bug. But, I don't think this bug is reason enough to return the game...it's loads of fun...and replayability is awesome...just start a new game and enjoy.

I have started a new game. I'm in Paupers Drop. I'll be there shortly. When I encountered the fight, there was no other big daddy around. So maybe the whole script glitched out? Maybe a big daddy was ill timed?

And Tech Chris, I'm not quite sure I'm picking up what you're putting down. You want me to start a new game and just play back up to that point? If not, let me know what you want me to test out.

I hope 2K gets some good support people that can actually verify these bugs...I understand that there's some randomness in the game, but I design, code, and fix larger applications for a living and if there's some randomness then I design test cases which cover the limits and ensure that the code works within those limits. It's easy to do if you have the skill. But, yeah...the splicers and big daddys are on a random timer which has a possibility of certain splicers or big daddy's to spawn...it was explained in a blog post somewhere. Apparently, some combinations can trigger bugs in the code. And, once the bug is present the game cannot continue and you have to reload a previous save. I save frequently...like every 30 minutes or so I do a quick save.

I understand about glitches, stuff happens. However, put in a checkpoint system with a revert option or some other proactive means. Tech support is reactive at its worst. I played through again though and its working like a charm. Its taking forever because I save all the time.
