Kinda of a random thought but do any of you think that Meltzer was aware of Delta and his quest?

I doubt it. Mark Meltzer was probably completely unaware of the existence of Delta aside from the announcements made by Lamb.
Yeah good point, I also noticed that his diaries were always near a corpse or some kind of campsite maybe to trick other splicers or even delta himself
Yep - I agree with the above post.
Meltzer was obviously there before Delta 'awoke' so I can't imagine he would have known anything. Even when Lamb did alert Rapture, he was probably a Big Daddy anyway, so he wouldn't have cared.
It's Dionysus Park.
To the guy whosaid he is a Daddy before Lamb starts alerting splicers, she makes an announcement after you enter Dionysus Park, which Mark had to have heard as he is just a rooms away finding Cindy then having her snatched by a Big Sister, and you know the rest.
I don't think Mark (or anyone for that matter), would care for a recently resurrected Alpha series Big Daddy, while their daughter is kidnapped by a "skinny armored freak".
That reminds me, Mark seemed to not recognize the big sister in Rapture as the same type of villain that broke his leg on the beach.
He kind of acts like he didn't understand the big sister in Rapture. But he was well aware of these things from Phase 1.
Think you're mistaken here. In a diary you find in the El Dorado (Ryan Amusements) Meltzer mentions he was ''jumped by one of those skinny armored freaks that took Cindy'', so he did recognize the Big sisters.
^ Yeah. I remember that audio diary.
I think if this were real life, which I understand it's a game, but if it were real life he would be highly stressed and probably a little in shock, so you can expect him to act a little irrationally and seem confused at times (IE seeming not to recognize a Big Sister despite the fact that he's very familiar with them).
That happens to people all the time who survive some tragedy. Like with William Garretson (the teenager who was the lone survivor of the Manson family's Sharon Tate murders). When he was asked to identify the body of Steven Parent he claimed to have no idea who he was, despite the fact that they were friends and Steven had been visiting him just the night before. He was in shock, just like Mark would be.
Yeah, but that was kind of generic. That's my point. He knows that Cindy was taken by one of these armored freaks because he witnessed another little girl in Rapture who swept down and took the little girl he thought was Cindy, too.
I mean, wouldn't you say, "Whoa! I ran into one of those skinny armored freaks that ALMOST KILLED ME on the beach and broke my leg!"
I dunno...maybe not. Mark proved to be a pretty selfless guy. So maybe he didn't care so much what happened to him on the beach and only identified with who took Cindy.
I may be over-analyzing.
We're overestimating Mark. I for one think he was pretty overwhelmed by Rapture, and as such would have a hard time coming to grips with exactly all that's going around. True, he is focused on saving his daughter, but hearing something like "Attention! Subject Delta is in Dionysus Park. His death is our rebirth!" would probably stir his noodles quite a bit. I bet in between trying to survive, worry about his daughter, and piece together Rapture's history (not to mention Lamb's evil plans), he spared a fleeting thought as to who or what Subject Delta is, and why Lamb wants him dead.
To this end I can assume two possibilities.
A) Meltzer assumes Delta is a soulless monster who really IS trying to destroy the family, not out of malice but out of a hunger for violence. Mark is most likely to believe this because it's all he hears, so hearing about a rogue metal monster would likely scare him just like the Big Sister. So he would want to steer clear of Delta.
B) Meltzer might have pondered "the enemy of my enemy is my friend." Of course, by the time Meltzer becomes aware of the existence of another enemy of Lamb's, it's too late for him.
Anything regarding mark meltzer u can find in Bioshock wiki . he has a huge ass story about himself before and after finding rapture andstuff, really a good read
Well, remember that Lamb had that huge broadcast about Delta when you meet Tenenbaum. By that time he's probably in Ryan Amusements or Pauper's Drop, so he obviously heard the announcement. Also, they're easy to miss, but there are television screens with Delta's image on it serving as 'wanted' photos.
Poor Mark probably never really understood or cared about it, as far as he was concerned it was just something that kept the Splicers from attacking him.
Now if Delta had gotten to Dionysus Park a few minutes earlier...well then that would have a different story.
He only ever knew about Delta when you fought him.
You wouldn't care about anyone or anything else if your only daughter was snatched by a Big Sister and you were trying to find her. Doubt he cared.
agrees with post above and also if he was aware of delta he probably wanted to stay as far away from him as possible cause he had no way of knowing whether or not delta would of smashed his face in or helped him.
