    Cannot Download Patches

I can connect to GFWL and sign into my account. When I click SP mode it tells me there is an update available and if I don't accept it I will be signed out. I say Yes get it... It sits there for a few seconds then an error window pops up that says:
Can't download the update. Make sure you are connected to the internet. if the problem persists go to: www.gamesforwindows.com/support

    0X80080005

I can then play just fine but I wanted to get the perspective fix that's in 1.1 and it seems the only way to get it is through GFWL?

I did try disabling my firewall but it made no difference.

It may be an issue with a firewall, antivirus or another program which can conflict in a smiliar manner.

Try closing down background software on startup by using msconfig (please see below)

    - Hold the windows key and tap R to bring up the run command
    - Type in the following MSCONFIG and select ok
    - Click on the startup tab
    - Select "disable all"
    - Click on apply and then close
    - Restart your computer
    - Select do not show this message again if a popup box appears and select ok

Try clearing your temp files too. To remove your temp files please try the following steps:

    - Hold the windows key and tap R to bring up the run command
    - Type in the following %temp% (including the percent signs) and select ok
    - Remove all files and folders within the directory that appears by clicking Edit and select all and pressing your delete key on the key board.
    - Please remove any files from recycle bin

Please let me know if this helps.

    Fixed

Had to change the BITS service to be Automatic (delayed) start. Did that rebooted and away it went.

Although it says it installed the patch but the version still displays as 1.0

    Did it really install it?

    Background
    Intelligent
    Transfer
    Service

here is the description from services:
Transfers files in the background using idle network bandwidth. If the service is disabled, then any applications that depend on BITS, such as Windows Update or MSN Explorer, will be unable to automatically download programs and other information.
