World/Globe view that is in Civlization IV

Do you think this will still be kept in the game? I love zooming out and seeing the world from space and looking at all the cities across the globe.

Only this time, I hope that they expand on the globe view so that the territory of each empire looks much better defined and easy to distinguish between each other. Notice how when you conquered another country in Civ 4 and that country is still alive with one city on an island in the middle of nowhere, your colour-code for your territory is kinda meshed with theirs? I think that looks awful and it should just show your territory colour and that's it.

Anyone else want the globe view to be in Civ 5 too?

And as you pan out to admire your vast and glorious empire, a flotilla of alien spaceships glides towards Earth

I like the globe view, but sometimes you just want a nice flat 2-D view to assess the overall situation without having to pan around the globe. I think a choice between the two would be a great addition. And yes, I hate that cultural overlay that they implemented. They should do definite borders only. Good post AstuteClass!

At the end of the game, aliens randomly invade one nation, and the powers of earth unite together to fight them off.

*Under you as their leader; then you form the galactic federation and the game transforms into MoO (with better graphics, of course)!

To be honest, this is why I was excited for Spore -- I thought it'd combine SimCity, Civilization, and MoO (my all time favorite series'). *ends digression*
