A hot badass who can teleport and has great quotes...FINALLY.
A hot badass who can teleport and has great quotes...FINALLY.
At first I didnt like my gameplay being interupted by her telepathy, it took me out of the game. But later I came to appreciate her.
Oh boy, the time I could spend talking about Eleanor. I already have a thread for that though.
But yes, she was awesome!
Lol, I keep all that discussion in the dedicated thread.
Good thats were it belongs
*raises hand*
I enjoyed fighting along side her.
Young Eleanor reminded me of these commercials from a few years back....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2ptAljJa5g
I don't know about anyone else but her voice was like a cute and annoying at the same (The girl in the advert not E)
But yeah Eleanor was pretty awesome at the first sort of "Communication" with her before Electro Bolt I had thought my computer had broke because she only says one word and I was like "Is that it?!"
Story wise I loved young Eleanor, but adult Eleanor made the game lame IMO. It almost made it feel like a generic action game at the end when she was fighting with you and didn't "feel" like Bioshock. I feel like some of you guys would have loved it if they started playing a Korn song or something when she was fighting with you.

People have been getting a little too obessive over Eleanor. However I did like yound Eleanor as a Little Sister.
She's cool, it just seemed odd that as soon as she put on that Big Sister suit she was able to dominate everyone, like she didn't even need to get used to it.
I thought that every single Bioshock 2 character was strong and worthy of being in the game. All the dialogue and acting was excellent.
Then we get to Eleanor. Her early child recordings are fantastic, but her ending script is god aweful corny. Especially when she fights along side you. For good ending she says stuff like "This one died alone and afraid, stand in our way and you'll recieve the same", I just wanted to slap her and tell her to shut up, this isn't Gears of War, we don't need cocky kick ass attitude/dialogue in Bioshock. Bad ending is even worse, she says retarded stuff like "I'll kill this one father, just like you showed me". "I'll take care of mother's pawns father, just like you showed me" *kills lil sister*.
God, I really wished they wouldn't have had her say that stupid stuff, it really ruined the experience for me towards the end. I found myself rolling my eyes and actually laughing at some of the stuff she said. I understand that they're trying to show you and your actions affect her, but come one, it was so over the top.
Teenagers do not talk like that. Also, she said "father" in every freakin sentence when she talked to you. I get it, I'm your father, quite saying that!
Although the good ending cutscene had fantastic script and acting, the bad ending felt cheesy too. "You taught me that only my survival is important, I indulge, nothing else".
Other than her ****ty endgame dialogue I thought that the rest of her character was very good.
Young Eleanor was extremely cute, best conveyed IMO through the "Eat Dog" audio diary ("the dog eaters wear human skins...it makes them look just like us!").
Adult Eleanor was just an incredible character and brilliant in-game ally. I can't remember how many times I used the Summon Eleanor plasmid in tricky situations! Her dialogue was also superb
I hope he's being sarcastic. Her dialogue at the end was atrocious. Very over the top, very corny, it felt very out of character for her to say those things. I mean, throughout the whole game we see the exact opposite of what we see of Eleanor at the end, an extemely impressionable unintelligent brat. If Eleanor is such a genius (like Lamb says she is), then why is she so impressionable? If she was as smart as the story touts her to be, then she would make her own decisions and moral ideals, not just copy Subject Delta like teenagers copy celebraties. Children mimic their parents, teenagers make their own decisions and their own ideals, most of the time these actually conflict their parents. Yeah, someone will try to tell me that she didn't have anyone else to learn proper behaviors from, but that shouldn't matter if she's a smart well rounded person like the story says she is. Her dialogue at the end makes the player feel like the developer is forcing it on the player, and that does not feel nice.
That was one of my biggest gripes with the sequel.

At Gameplayer03;
It's just a game...
Otherwise, if you run around with the "bad Eleanor" she seem more "fitted" to the amount of power that she had... In other terms, yes Eleanor was bad-ass to me... (when I chose "bad" Eleanor)
I loved Eleanor and using her raw power to kill the splicers every time I could.
I am in the same boat as most everyone else. Young Eleanor's audiologs were the best audiologs in the game (Dog-Eat-Dog especially) but I wasn't a big fan of the woman who provided the voice for older-Eleanor. She just sounded so dry and detached. She lacked that uniqueness that young Eleanor had made her become a bit generic. This wasn't helped by the fairly poor writing her older self was given.
Although the "This one dies alone and afraid. Stand in our way, and you'll get the same" line was so terrible and said so frequently that I actually came to love it.
Hope To See Eleanor In BioShock 3 But Not As Main Character I Hope The Creators Of BioShock Bring The Main Character From BioShock 2 Back To Life Some How In The Same Big Daddy Suit Because You Barely Got To Play As Him When You Find Eleanor So I Hope You Can Play As The Main Character From BioShock 2 And Be Able To Play Alongside Eleanor Through BioShock 3
I wanna play as her next!![]()

she´s very nice, the story is soo great cause of her...
but i got a semi good ending only because i killed one single little sister![]()
![]()
i´m gonna play it again anyway![]()
I somewhat agree with Gameplayer, I sometimes wanted to drill her face into oblivion when she said those things, I also agree that teenagers don't say 'father'. Heck, some people over here in Scotland call them 'Da'' instead of 'Dad'. Nevertheless, she was a great character and hope she makes a return in B3 (though not, of course, the character you play as)

I like her moves and how she disappears.![]()
She run faster than me!!!!! >_>;
definatly my favourite character, i listened to 'mr. tape recorder' so many times cause it makes me laugh![]()
when you get to fight along side her she would just dominate everything, i'd sit back and watch with a father's pride
i liked her dialogue, during fights it really showed she had some pent up rage, even if it was the good version. Her dialogue in the evil version was awesome on so many levels.
also i noticed if i freeze an enemy, she'll telekinesis them into a wall and smash them. once i discovered this. winter's blast was the only plasmid i needed
You also have to take into account how isolated she was from everybody else. And I think she referred to Delta as Father because it shows a little bit more adoration than "daddy" does.
and I think the things she says is cute, like "I'm not your god**** messiah!" was funny.
But anyway, yeah I think Eleanor was an adorable character and she contributed a lot to my love for the game. I would hate to have to grow up like she did, it would be awful.![]()
Not really possible for Eleanor to be a player character. Its important in this sort of game for the player character to be near or at the bottom of the latter. Eleanor simple is too powerful she may have a role to play in future games, but not as a player character.
I was absolutely ecstatic in the last hour or two of the game, starting when you play as the little sister and Eleanor informs you that she's gonna become a Big Sister. And then when she hands you the plasmid for summoning her at will!!! I was giddy with excitement for the rest of the game, and I couldn't have been happier with the best ending possible.
I LOVE...EL--THREAD OF HOW AWESOME ELEANOR IS!!! I LOVE HOW IT CHANGED TOPICS SO MANY TIMES!!! even though i now have an image that will haunt me forever...
I gotta say, summoning her with a Plasmid was ridiculously cool. I've just gotta find something more hectic to call her for, because I never had a reason too.
Yes she is awesome.
Yes me too! I wanna stab things with needles! But it would make a rather easy game unless you wait another 5 or so years after BS2 so new splicers and other enemies have evolved in Rapture so they would be stronger. You could work in Tenenbaum contacting Eleanor to come back and help and BAM you have Bioshock 3....but probably not.
Oh well I can still love Eleanor <3
She's awesome and sexy. I hope I play as her in the next game, if not a Splicer.
I thought Eleanor ruled!I loved her dialogue at the end when she's a Big sis
