Thread: This is my apology

    This is my apology

To 2K Games. I HAVE made several threads and posts on here blaming you for the game not working on my PC. In the long run I discovered that it was due to my Windows updates not being bp to date by about 8 months and that it was my own fault all along. For this you have my most sincere apologies. Thank you for producing a great game and I look forward to the multiplayer fixes.

(Rolling eyes) thinking in the back of his mind screaming out one of the new members finally understand 2k doesn't rip off fans.

*Now wishing the rest of the new troll memebrs understand this and decide to stop breaking the forum rules. That or all old members get the ability to ban new members who desever it* no I'm not talking about you, you finally understand. Welcome to the true Cult of Rapture.

P.S. And Offtopic why do you have AK in your name?

Mmm, I think the OP a/c has been hacked by a 2K employee... as a moderator-wannabe Downfall, perhaps you could look into it?

Another example of troll stupidity. You can't make moderator. The mods were people picked be 2k in the beginning when the forum was made. No one can make the rank of mod. Now I'm going cause I'm tired of new members for today

Yea well Downfall if you look around I was flaming them pretty good for a while but after a day or 2 eased up realizing they would fix the bugs. then discovered why it wasn't launching, or fixed it rather. Still bugs in multiplayer and the latency is horrendus but I'm sure all wrongs will be righted.

And AK, like you I assume is where I live. Wasilla, Ak

Could you please confirm how you are connected to the internet.

Are you connected through a wired or wireless connection?

Are you using a router or are you connected directly to directly to a modem?

What type of connection do you have? (DSL, broadband etc).

Omg I'm not the only alaskin dplicer anymore!!! Get out!!!

Haha kidding. Kodiak is my destination. Man guess goes my steak of being the only alaskin on the forum

  13. #13
Nah. been up here my whole life. Born and raised. Wouldn't want to live anywhere else. But Kodiak...I dunno. something about being on a cold island doesen't sound too appealing to me. But to each their own.

But ya probably have about 5-6 hours of gametime in so far. LOVING the game so far. LOTS of fun. The multiplayer needs some serious attention though. granted our inet speeds are less up here than down south, a 4MB inet speed should be more than enough to play anything online. I can play TF2 and Counter Strike with absoloutly no issues whatsoever. Same with WoW, granted WoW you don't need a crazy fast connection. But Bioshock 2 I tried again last night and was chopping all over the place (Not graphics chopping mind you, but latency. Also the way to find games is a bit meh. the BEAUTIFUL thing About TF2 and CS is that I can find a server with a low ping and go. I hate letting some kind of automated system find games for me. just something to consider 2K

I do have 1 question as far as clitches in single player...Is it normal for splicer corpses to turn into ammo boxes after a few seconds?

yes because people complained that when the body dissappeared they didnt get to loot them in time.

  16. #16

    Talking

Fair enough. Why not just leave the bodys? I liked using them with telekenesis in BS1. make for good weapons. :P

Becuase By the time of Bioshock 2 since Jacks events Rapture would be filled to the ceiling with dead bodies.

heh. thats a lot of telekenesis ammunition. ROFL

Well good for you Mr Big DawgAK
I bet the game must rock.
I am sure it is, other then the fact that most people here do have problems with the legendary GFWL sign-in crash fact.

Let's just get to the definition of a videogame.
You buy the game, insert the dvd, install all necessary files on your PC and play.
With play i mean, clicking on the icon of your beloved game (in this case bioshock 2) and playing it, like shooting stuff and running around, maybe even save a lill sister or two.

What i don't understand about a videogame is buying it, insert dvd, install the files, and surf the net to find other people with the same problems, mangle with your files a bit, and again,,,and again.

This is not about trolls flaming, jeez, this is about people who bought a product and want to know how to use it.
Trust me, if the product worked, i wouldn't be here, i would play the game.

Face it, windows destroyed videogaming and bad console-ports are littering the PC-market.

LOL! Look I'm not trying to rub anything in, my point was, I made a jerk of myself (Kinda like you just did) and realized that the issue wasn't their fault at all like I was blaming, so I was apologizing. thats not saying yours or anyone else is fixed, just saying that mine works just fine now after I realized what the problem was.

And you don't gotta get all smart@$$ with me. I'm fully aware of the definition of a video game. "video game
–noun 1. any of various games played using a microcomputer with a keyboard and often joysticks to manipulate changes or respond to the action or questions on the screen.
    2. any of various games played using a microchip-controlled device, as an arcade machine or hand-held toy."

That being said...it's a game. Yes it has some bugs. Relax, calm down, go play with your barbies in the corner for another couple days, and when everything is worked out, you can play

But consider this Runs PERFECTLY (with the exception of multiplayer) on My PC that I built myself. and I'm no computer science major. So I'd be willing to bet the launch issues are machine/hardware related rather than 2K's software related. I had to totally reinstall Vista cause it wasn't downloading the updates. Did that though, got it all updated, and it runs without a hitch

Tech Paul, I am also hooked up to a router through a wired connection with charter high speed internet.

I am experiencing major lag in many online matches. Also, matchmaking is very frustrating (combine waiting rooms together, whenever I'm in a waiting room people only enter one at a time. I know there are other waiting rooms with similar skill that could be combined into one).

Also host swapping. When the host leaves please fix it so that we all aren't kicked out of the game. Instead of waiting 60 seconds people just leave the room and search for another game to get in quicker!!

The biggest problem though, is the lag. The online is wicked fun, it would be incredible if you guys could somehow fix the lag!

Well not quite - the key bindings don't work, and yet they worked perfectly fine in BS1, so who broke it? And who didn't find it during testing?

I won't play an FPS unless I can map the keys the way I like it (the old Quake way, with right-mouse as forward, and ./, as left/right etc.) as that's the way I always play FPSs.

It's a long way from perfect. Spent £30 on something I cannot continue on, so I will spend my time killing zombies on L4D2 - a game I bought 2 days later and just works - right out the box.

Yes quite. works fine right out of the box, with the exception of multiplayer. If your windows updates are not up to date you will not even be able to launch the game. Having your OS updates up to date I think should be a given. I got lazy and let mine get behind and that was my problem. MY slip. But now that it's running I've had no bugs, No glitches, My keys stay mapped to where I want them, even after I save and quit for the night and come back after work the folloring night...my crouch is still mapped to control, my plasmid cycles are still my forward and back browser buttons on the mouse, My first aid is still mapped to q...People seriously make sure your poop is in a group (think about it) before you keep yelling and complaining and making an a$$ of yourselves. get your machine the way it SHOULD be running and you're fine

Agreed! If someone would like to refund my £30, I will uninstall Bioshock 2, delete my user account here and never buy a 2K game again. Deal or No Deal?

No, I cannot configure it the way I want to play the game. If you couldn't change the video resolution and had to play at 800x600, cos that's the way it comes out the box (say), would you be happy?

All these rants are justified. I'm sorry but this is a business. We paid 2K for a service(video game) we expect them to deliver. In this case they have not. I have been along time Pc player and have never encountered a game even close to this buggy.

Everyday we have post after post about this game. I understand that Pc games are hard to format to fit all different types of computers, but that is what you should have done during the Beta testing sessions.

You guys(2K) should have taken alittle bit longer to finish this game.

I used to be irritated when a PC game took longer to get published (take assassins creed 2 for example)
But now i wish Bioshock 2 did the same and didn't choose for the quick buck.

    @ PopNfresh2312

Right on, been a PC gamer myself for a long time.
I did encounter buggy games (saints row 2 , resident evil 4, red faction 3,..to name a few) but at least you could play them, or a patch would follow up close by.
Hell, resident evil 4 poster a patch that enhanced the visual looks, and it didn't took that long. How is something like unable to load your save games taking so long?

Seeing how not all people are having problems leads more toward different PC configurations, are overclocking their system and/or people not having up to date drivers, OS service packs, etc.

Now I can think of some software that was released in a really big buggy condition and cost a whole lot more money to purchase -----> Windows Vista.

Bioshock2 worked perfectly for me out of the box and even after the patch. Come to think of it every PC game I have ever purchased has run perfectly...hmm.

While i too have had no problems with the game crashing and such, my problems are with the mp, it's basically unplayable, the matchmaking system just dosent work and the lag. these two alone are game breakers for online play.

Broadband (dsl) Downfall. I dont know the exact info numbers though, but it's pretty high. I was able to d/l B2 from steam in only 3 hours. Most people took around 5 to 8 or so.'

I was able to finally fix my saving problem, but it took me a week of hell to do it. Ma2/mw2/Crysis/ all valve games were playable right out of the box. So why did I have so much problems with Borderlands and B2????

I guess it's my out of date system files though right kevin? hmmmm
