environment disappointing IMO
The first bioshock compared to the second has a much more glamour and style and less of the industrial look. I know that after 10 years everything has turned to ****. but some beauty could have remained in the level designs. only the first level and paupers drop were reasonable in my opinion.
In the first bioshock i tended to walk around the environment enjoying the beauty of rapture. Now I just can't because there is almost no beauty left.

Mmmm, I missed the spraaaawling windows that brought such light and wonderment to a room as when you first exit the bathysphere in BS1. Even in Adonis, the windows to the world were tiny. I would think a luxury spa would take advantage of a much more glorious view of the wide Atlantic ocean.
But, I dunno. I admit, I prefer the first game, but I also do not believe scenery was what brought it down. After all, now you're exploring the hidden parts of Rapture. The places not only secret from the surface, but from the general public as well. Hidden churches in pumping stations, secret prisons the public was not to know about, etc. And apart from that, also the places where the poorest of the poor live... hidden deep under the dank and dark railroad construction sites, etc.
I thought Ryan Amusements was worth a long hard gander, no?
I'm not disappointed by the environment, not by a long shot.
