I thought the opening of the first Bioshock (when the spider kills Johnny) was creepy, but nothing else. There were startling moments, but no scary moments.

Wasn't there this moment in Bioshock i forget what level i think it was fort frolic when you to this dark room and their are all these stone statues , then when you look around find atonic a get ready to leave they all burst out as spider splicer and attacked you, that scared me a little. Their was also the part when the houdini splicer was introduced , i was a bit creeped hearing all the teleporting noises and splicer sounds, then i went to picks up some items on a table then i turned around and there was a houdini splicer with a scarecrow mask staring directly at me a foot away. I was so freaked out.

In Bioshock 2 i wasn't that freaked out because they did all the same bathroom tricks which i became inpervious to.

not really scary, but shocking...when you follow the unstable teleporting plasmid...freaked me out how that transpired because you don't expect it, all for (IMO) a mediocre tonic lol! I wanted teleporting power!

Nothing scared me, really. Might be because I had a huge drill, I dunno.. However, there was one part that made me go, "Ah, crap. Wasn't expecting that" and that was the part when you enter the kitchen, and you see a Splicer hang someone from the roof and ran around, so you run around after him but he isn't there, then you turn around and BAM, three Splicers get up and are all in your face.

lmao jesus, im in diyonsus park in the womens bathroom in Triton Cinema. theres a tonic on the floor and i know damn well somethings gonna scare the piss out of me. so i grab it and whip around and nothings there. however, it never occured to me to look up, so a spider splicer drops from the ceiling and bashed my head in, thus scaring the absolute piss out of me and i almost yelled XD

I think the scariest part for me was the one room in Pauper's Drop in the Sinclair Deluxe. It had a toasty splicer hung in a noose and a breadwinner that was constantly trying to outrun you until you THINK you cornered him in the kitchen. I wasted most of my ammo shooting at everything that was in that kitchen until realizing that he just wasn't going to pop out. Lol.

No dubt about the scariest moment: Lamb's office!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49t3La6fhvM

you really realize LS point of view and what they've done to those girls's mind to show Rapture in that way.....

Not many scary moments. When i was playing BS i was so scared at times i turned off the game.Remember plastered splicers? Or houdini woman in fort frolic, appearing in an empty room after you hack a safe?

In BS2 there were some scary moments(the orphanage or the creepy room after you use teleport plasmid) but it isn't as scary as the first one, there is more action.

I don't get it. How can you guys get scared of the splicers when you got that biga$$ drill on your arm?!?

  18. #98
Yes, while I do appreciate the improved gameplay, I wish that the "scary" atmosphere of Rapture hadn't been compromised to increase the level of action in the game.

well this moment wasn't that much scary it was very tight! in siren alley right after you kill Father Wales and you collect his key i went to that room to activate that panel with the key the message appeared that i haven't adopted or harvested all the LSs in the level and i turned back to find the last one. i found her nearby and i killed her BD and i adopted her and rescue her in that room with the panel. and right after i rescue her i heard Big Sis screaming. i rushed to activete the panel and when i had active it BS came to the room and the most thighest battle begun. i was fighting with her and i was running out of time cuz the hole place was flooding. stuned her in the water and shoot at her,i had the advantage of water cuz i was able to stun her while she was staniding in the water. and when the place was almost flooded i killed her and after that thoes doors have crashed and the area was flooded and i went for a walk to Dionysus park.

ME TOO! I literally jumped! It seems so innocent- you grab a tonic. But then it gets misty and you turn around and BAM! I had to bring my heart rate down a little.

But in BS2 I would say a moment that made me pause and catch my breath was the first time you hear the Big Sister screech at you and read that she is coming. All of a sudden the screen gets clouded, you keep reading that she's getting closer...and the very first time you see her- you're like 'Uhhhh...I'm in trouble!'

    This is truth.

These games are fairly painless until the enemies actually become dangerous

I've never been really scared just startled.

I remember being in Dionysus Park and backtracking to get to a Gatherer's Garden and walking through I noticed bodies on the ground. I had already killed many people there so I thought nothing of it. The splicer jumped up when I walked on it and I jumped a little.

    Cool

Minervas Den has a scary part lol.

The workshop full of Robotic Little Sisters.

The first time I went in I went Arhhh creepy little girl dolls.

Then afterwards it was arghhh because they are creepy lol.

I hate dolls. Anything outside of a child playing with a doll, creeps me out.

I had a thought that I hoped they did not turn on lol.

I go up for the hypo, grab it, turn around, and there's a splicer in my face! Only part of the game so far which has made me jump. Then again, I just only completed pauper's drop.
I missed this scare, and I'm glad I did because I'm too sensitive about things jumping at me haha. After I grabbed the hypo, I just strafed to the right to look in the next stall, then I looked back to the left and saw the splicer attacking the empty stall I had just been in lmao. I had a feeling something like that was going to happen before I got the hypo actually, which is why I didn't look behind me and just moved to the right =P

I played it when I was 21 and I could barely get through it without the lights on. Also it gave me the craziest dreams/nightmares for weeks lol. Fun ones tho!! One of my favorite games ever though.. the fear factor made it that much more satisfying.

The Little Sister's Orphanage was one of the scariest moments for me too. It was totally unexpected.

Yeah I know what you mean. That part scared me the first playthrough as well.

I'd say that a creepy part was when you're walking through the mental hospital and you see some of the patients rocking back and forth on their beds in a fetal position. Not scary but creepy.

The place in Siren Ally, where you go into the Little Sister Orphanage. You see a Spider Splicer running away from you, then when you pick up an audio diary and stare at the wagon the lights go off.

so far (i just got BS2 recently) there has only been one part that actually made me jump. not really scary but gave me a jolt was the first time you fight the Big Sister. she dropped down right as i was walking through a doorway and i had seen her around and knew that i was gonna have to face her but it still got me in the end :P

Tbh i never really felt scared in the game. Only made me jump a few times. I never felt scared because i thought of myself as the toughest Big Daddy in rapture.

I think the only part I was scared was seeing the "Big Sister" the first time. :P I only found the second game to be intense with all the splicers running around and I kept on running out of ammo.
