A guide to all 6 endings (spoilers ofcourse)

    Updated

There are a total of six endings in Bioshock 2. Perform the actions below to achieve the various endings:

    1. Good Ending- To get the good ending you must save all little sisters and spare the lives of at least one of the following: Grace Holloway, Stanley Poole, or Gilbert Alexander. In this ending Sophia lamb lives

    2. Alternative good ending- This is basically the same as the one above but instead Sophia dies. To achieve this you must save all little sisters you've dealt with and must kill all NPC's.

    3. Neutral Ending (Sofia Lamb Lives)- If you rescured at least one little sister and harvested at least one then you'll be given a choice to live or die. If you spared the lives of all NPC's and chose to die, you will get the neutral ending. Oh and Sophia lives.

    4. Neutral Ending (Sofia Lamb Dies)- Same conditions as above but instead you have to kill at least one NPC.

    5. Bad Ending (Sofia Lamb Lives)- To achieve this ending you must harvest all little sisters that you've dealt with and spare lives of all NPCs
However it is also possible to obtain this ending by meeting the criteria for the Neutral ending (sophia lives) but instead choosing to live when presented.

    6. Bad Ending (Sofia Lamb Dies)- Same as above but instead of saving the NPCs you must kill at least one of them.
Subsequently you can also achieve this ending by meeting the critera for the Neutral ending (sophia dies) and choosing live cling on to life.

Hey if it isnt too much trouble can you edit what the actual ending is? I just want to know how to get them not what they are.

i dont quite understand this its a little bit weird (especially the bad endings), whats that "or" you get bad ending if you harvest all sisters i think.

BTW how the hell i decide to live or to die??????????
I dont see any choice at the end.

Indeed. What does decided to live mean ?

I cannot remember to have had any decision about that at any point.

    Oh i figured it out:

So "The final choice is only given to you if you've rescued and harvested at least one little sister (thus dealing with at least two little sisters throughout the game). At the end, you're given the choice to live or die, and that choice affects the ending you get."

its from ign...god, please update that "ending guide"

    Oh ok.

Then i got the good ending without any choice between life and death.

Ive rescued all little sister and only killed Gilbert Alexander (actually i thought this would be considered good as he begs you in his recording to kill him no matter what)

Elenor saved Sofia Lamb's life on the way to the surface.

well so far i played through the game twice (on normal and hard, but i had a corrupted save on hard, so i had to reload a save which was normal, so i didnt get the hard achivement ), i got good ending (saving every sis and everyone) and bad (harvest all, kill all ). Guess i have another go with this "never before heard choosing to die" feature , but first i will wait for a patch that fixes the HUD helmet problem, since i have a widescreen monitor.

Technically there's only 3 endings but for each ending you can Sophia Lamb living or dying, making it a total of 6.

weird... i saved all sisters and the old lady, but killed the a-hole guy because my Elanor said he was bad and then I, like another poster, thought that killing Gil was the GOOD choice. So i just loaded up before i killed the 2nd guy and played through to Gil again to get Savior.

In both final endings, Lamb lived, I died. I'm kinda curious to know what harvesting all and killing all would look like at the end, though... need to check youtube i guess.

so, to get this "choice", you have to save and harvest at least one little sister? because i was a jerk my first playthrough (started on my second... i'm saving everything this time) and i was not given a choice to do anything.

Oh, dur, was wondering why they were "six" endings then realized how many ways Sophia can live or die xD

Also for the "live or die" choice you get, in the game when you're prompted to make the choice, they're called "sacrifice" and "live."
You're given this choice when Eleanor is about to stab you with the ADAM needle at the very end when she's monologuing all wrap-it-up style :B

Idk, might clear things up for some people since a few seem to be confused, but not saying -I- didn't get any of it, thought it was explained quite well xD

Sorry to be a bother, but could you say what you must do to get each ending and then put a spoiler tag around what the ending actually is or what happens in it, please?
I'm trying to get the different ones, but I don't want to know what happens in them yet.

She gets stuck inside the flooded escape pod. Depending on the player's actions, she either drowns, or gets rescued by Eleanor Lamb.

    how could you???????
jk i killed them on my first play-through also, was kinda sad/disturbing how it turned out though so i started another save and rescued them. really liked that ending it was nice gonna go back and try the neutral ending now.

PS. for people who are trying out the different endings use EASY MODE. there's nothing shameful about it (contrary to popular belief) and lets u go through the story in like 6 hrs

I wish there was a neutral ending where you still have the same ending, but Elaine doesnt kill every single little sister. I couldnt bare to watch that when i went for neutral.
If they made the good ending where Sophia dies and you only had to kill one of the key holders, i would do that in a heart beat. I refuse to kill Grace, but i want sophia lamb dead!!!

The neutral ending is the same as the bad ending except just as your about to die, Elaine snaps out of her psychokiller persona and breaks down in tears. Its super depressing, but sweet at the same time.

Why would they make a Bad ending where Sophia Lamb lives....If Elanor is evil why save her?

Because Eleanor is a complex person and learns from what she see's through you. If she see's you sparing those who wrong you then she will too. If she see's you using little sisters as tools then she will too.
