Unable to start windows live

So, I just finished up the short campaign in 5 hours and I'm feeling pretty frustrated since multiplayer doesn't work for me. I am able to log onto the account, which prompts me for the cd key. So I type that in, and press accept. Then for a second or so, it says downloading, then randomly stops and says I have a problem with my network. Is there a quick fix to this? Pretty sure it has nothing to do with my network.

Sorry for the double post, but I really want to play the multiplayer. Anyone have an idea? I'll post my specs if needbe, but I'm almost 100% sure it isn't because of my hardware.
